“Émile Durkheim’s study about suicide”

Émile Durkheim identified four types of suicide that are prompted by the type of
society in which one lives. It is the Altruistic, Egoistic, Anomic, and Fatalistic.
Additionally, Durkheim articulated two conceptual frameworks and four types of
suicide related to integration and regulation: egoistic/altruistic suicides (too little
and too much integration) and anomic/fatalistic suicides (too little and too much
regulation). So lets’ define each type of his 4 types of suicide that are triggered by
this type of society, first is the “Altruistic” it is the individuals who reach the
extremes of their society are destined to commit suicide. It is also whenever an
individual is integrating or associating himself with the society, and that integrated
relation or association may reach a point where the individual may be forgetting
about himself or the individual may be identifying himself with the society in such
a manner that ultimately he himself is subdued by the social identity. For example,
when an individual dedicate himself to the service of the nation to be a soldier or
social worker, initially he is very well aware of his own identity and he is very well
careful and very cautious about his own individual entity. This integration may
become over integration, and the individual may even become ready to sacrifice
his life for the society, like for example a soldier jumping on a grenade in order to
save others, yet kills him, therefore that would be a form of altruistic suicide.
Second is the “Egoistic”, it is thought to be caused by a lack of social integration.
These are individuals who are social outcasts and consider themselves to be alone
or outsiders. These people are unable to discover their own position in society and
struggle to fit in with groups. Therefore, suicide is viewed as a way for them to
escape loneliness or excessive individuation. Third is “Anomic” it is triggered by a
lack of social regulation and happens when there is a lot of stress and
dissatisfaction. Anomic suicide is caused by rapid and unexpected changes in
circumstances. For example, when someone suffer severe financial loss, the
disappointment and stress, may motivate them to attempt suicide as a way of
escaping.

Recommendation
In today’s society, the number of suicide cases is growing more widespread as a
result of the rising stress that people encounter. Therefore I’m going to put my
recommendation to prevent this kind of situation, this is just my opinion how to
prevent this suicide. First thing is that we should talk and listen to the people who
is suicidal, we all know that we don't see who the suicidal person is, but when you
notice his movements and it seems like something is strange about him/her, talk to
him/her so that he/she doesn't take his problem to him or herself, because if it gets
worse he/she might continue his plan suicide. through a hard time, but suicide will
never ever be a solution, always remember that you'll be okay too, I don't know
when, but your weakness now will also make you stronger soon." And in that way,
he/she doesn't seem to think to commit suicide because someone sympathizes with
him/her. Second thing is that, if you can’t handle the situation, call for someone,
there is a number for National Center for Mental Health Crisis Hotline, the number
is 0966-351-4518, call for help, always remember that suicide is never ever a
solution.
