Theme: “Building Resilient Organizations: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Leaders and
HR Practitioners”
In today’s turbulent and disruptive environment, organizations need to be more resilient
and adaptive and be able to respond and quickly recover after a crisis. Building resilient
public sector organizations entails managing change at various levels and affects
different people with different roles. Leaders set the directions, HR practitioners create
the necessary environment and the people implement the change. Amidst all these,
transitions occur at different levels: personal, organizational and even societal.
This year’s HR Symposium will focus on the strategic roles of Government Leaders and
HR Practitioners in building resilient organizations as well as the people themselves who
are involved in implementing change. The symposium will feature the characteristics of
resilient organizations, tools and best practices in building resilient organizations which
will be shared in the plenary and concurrent sessions by international and local
speakers. It aims to inspire participants in initiating change towards developing resilient
organizations to ensure continued and effective delivery of public service despite
disruptions.
In line with this theme, the Symposium will have major tracks and topics that will focus
on developing resiliency at various levels - Personal, Organizational and Societal.
Personal Resilience - enables one to adapt and recover form stress and adversity and
maintain or return to a state of mental health wellbeing by using effective coping
strategies.
Organization Resilience – enables the agency to anticipate, prepare for, respond and
adapt to incremental change and sudden disruptions and to thrive in the new normal.
Societal Resilience - to discuss best practices in good governance to maintain its core
societal functions and reduce the social impact of a shock after a crisis and to ensure
