An art is an art when people perceive a meaning or a feeling towards it. An architectural building
especially European architecture isn’t an art when a person looks at it and does not give any feeling
of some kind, like peace, overwhelm and amusement. Because art is a feeling, a message that gives
meaning to human beings. So, this is how I experienced art.
It was the time when I realized that I love basketball. I grew up very actively in basketball though I
don’t see any beauty on it, I just know that I am good at it and my family and friends usually says it too. I
am an average 5-foot 9 guy who can dribble like Curry and shoot like Lebron James. It happened in a
glimpse of a moment. The day was calm, the chemistry of my team was marvelous, it looks like we were
systematically moving with connection that even an eye contact makes us understand each other. There
was this play where I ran as fast as I could, 3 defenders are in front of me waiting for me to attack the
rim. It almost feels like I was in a slow motion, my heart was not beating that fast, I was at peace, gentle
with the ball, I was confident. The moment I attacked the rim, I felt that I knew already what was my
opponents are thinking and what they were going to do. So, I purposely spun the ball and threw it to the
left side of the rim opposite to where my opponent hands were and the ball went in with 3 defenders
locked up on me. After that, the people watching were at awe on how great my shot was. The
opponents were also shocked and laughing because it was nearly impossible for me to execute it with 3
defenders. The next play I did the same thing with 3 defenders again, I was not feeling nervous, I was
happy, my teammates were very active and again the moment I attacked the rim, my mind was like they
will definitely block me if I shoot it with the same side where I shot it. So, I shot it to the right and went
in again. In that very moment I knew that basketball is more than a sport. It’s more than a game. It’s a
way of life, a way to know myself and other better, a way to communicate. It’s an art where the
calmness, serenity, the chemistry of the team and the ability to create something impossible and make
people amaze and curious just by looking at it makes that moment an art and made basketball an art.
