SECTION 01

GENERAL

Foreword
3 Operator Certification statement
The Undersigned undertakes to endure that the aircraft will continue to be
maintained in accordance with the program. It is understood that non compliance
with this program will invalidate the Certificate of Airworthiness.
When preparing the program, recommendations made by the airframe, engine and
equipment type certificate holders have been evaluated and where necessary have
been incorporated.
The aircraft to which this approved aircraft maintenance program applies will be
maintained in an airworthy condition at all times and in strict accordance with the
said approved aircraft maintenance.
The data contained in the program will be reviewed annually for continued validity,
in the light of operating experience.
It is accepted that this program does not prevent the necessity for complying with
any new or amended regulation published by the KCAA, where these new or
amended regulation may override elements of this program.

5 Responsibilities and Standards
5.1 Operator Responsibilities
5.1.1 The Operator is responsible for the aircrafts’ continuing airworthiness in accordance
with KCARS.
5.2 Aircraft Maintenance Program Contents

6 Certificate of Release to Service
6.1 The CRS shall be issued by ALS limited Approved Maintenance Organization.
6.2 On completion of any of the program maintenance checks, a detailed, referenced
entry is made in the relevant log books with an appropriate Certificate of Release to
Service by certifying person.
6.3 The issue of a Certificate of Release to Service is indicative that all mandatory
modifications and inspections have been complied with.

6.4 The Certificate of Release to Service is issued for the following categories:
Airframe category “A”
Engine/propeller category “C”
Electrical category “X”
Instruments/compass/autopilot category “X”
Radio/avionics category “R”
7 Certifying Personnel Responsibilities
7.1 Certifying persons must use their engineering skills and judgment in determining the
depth of inspection needed and other matters, which would affect the airworthiness
of the aircraft.


7.2 Certifying persons are responsible for recording in the appropriate log book or
worksheet, any defect, deficiency or additional maintenance requirement, resulting
from the implementation of the program and the issue of the CRS.
8 Airworthiness Life Limitations
8.1 Airworthiness life limits shall be those published by the state of design type
certificate holder and supplemental type certificate holder
9 Airworthiness Directives / Service Bulletin Procedure
9.1 Airworthiness directives shall be those issued by FAA and the KCAA. The Procedure
of acquisition and implementation is outlined on ALS MPM PART 2 SECTION 18 and
SECTION 21 respectively.
10 KCAA Generic Requirements
10.1 Forecasting and compliance with the CAA generic requirements shall be recorded in
the Log books.
11 Instructions for Continued Airworthiness
11.1 Instructions for continued airworthiness consists of in‐service data published by the
type cert holder in maintenance manuals, service bulletins, service letters etc
12 Changes (Modifications or Repairs)
12.1 KCAA Approved changes, which have been carried out, must be recorded in the
appropriate Log books.
13 Scheduled Maintenance Worksheets
13.1 Worksheets shown in section 7 of the program shall be issued and each task signed
off. These worksheets become part of the maintenance records and must be kept in
accordance with KCARS by the operator.
13.2 Any additional maintenance carried out should be certified and suitably referenced
scheduled maintenance worksheets and additional worksheets shall be cross‐
referenced and recorded in the certification areas of the KCAA log books giving
details of airworthiness directives, component changes, scheduled and any
additional maintenance carried out.
14 Unscheduled maintenance
14.1 There are occasions which may arise during operations of the aircraft where special
un‐programmed maintenance checks will be required dependent on specific
circumstances. The range of un‐programmed Maintenance Checks is intended to
cover events which may normally be expected and are covered in Chapter 5 of the
aircraft maintenance manual.


14.2 However, when other circumstances, not covered by Chapter 5 of the aircraft
maintenance manual, are encountered, ALS AMO will consult with the manufacturer
and KCAA for alternate method of compliance.
14.3 If an inspection is required, it must be performed prior to further flight, unless a
Special Flight Permit is issued to position the aircraft to a maintenance base where
an in depth inspection can be made. All un‐programmed events as listed in Chapter 5
have to be reported to KCAA and Manufacturer.
15 Reliability Program

The Company has started the Reliability Section to implement fully the requirements
of the Reliability Program Manual that has been established to meet the intents of the
FAA Advisory Circular 120-17A and the KCAA Regulation 66 on the Aircraft
Maintenance Program (AMP). The Regulations requires that a reliability program be
established for aircraft with a maximum takeoff mass above 13,310 Kg. The method
for data collection, analysis, corrective actions and reporting specified for the
implementation of this program is prescribed in the Maintenance Control Manual, and
the Reliability Program Manual which constitutes part of this Approved Maintenance
Program.
16 Escalation or De‐escalation of Maintenance Time Intervals
The time limits shown in the Maintenance Program may be escalated and/or de‐
escalated in accordance with the Beechcraft 1900 AMP as approved by the KCAA. In
addition, the Company may request approval to escalate or de‐escalate the time
limits of individual tasks based on operating experience & Reliability Program of the
Beechcraft 1900 aircraft, supplemented by data from the Company and as approved
by the KCAA. Where a task interval is de‐escalated, the task will be carried out within
the new task repeat interval from the effective date of the Inspection Program
revision. However the task must be completed prior to the pre‐revision task
accomplishment deadline.

AND CANNOT BE CHANGED, ESCALATED, OR DELETED WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE
MANUFACTURER AND APPROVED BY THE KCAA.

17 Engine Condition Trend Monitoring
Engine parameters like ITT, NG, NP, Torque and Fuel Flow will be recorded by the
Engine Condition Monitoring System on the Technical log for reference to engineers
for establishing trend in case of any defects affecting engine performance.


18 Duplicate inspections
18.1 Flight control systems and engine control systems:
If, as a result of the application of this maintenance Program, any part of either the
main or any associated system(s) is dismantled, adjusted, repaired or renewed, that
part of the system(s) which has been disturbed shall be subjected to a duplicate
inspection for free movement, range, direction and tension checks and shall be
appropriately certified
18.2 Landing gear "emergency" control system:
If a result of the application of this maintenance Program any part of the main or
nose landing gear "emergency" or "free fall" control system or any associated
system(s) which has been disturbed shall be subjected to a duplicate inspection for
free movement, range direction and tension checks and shall be appropriately
certified.
• Installation and repair of major structural components.
• Installation of aircrafts engines.
• Calibration or rigging of components such as engines, navigation equipment
and gearboxes.
19 Test Flights
Non‐revenue flight following maintenance actions are not required by the aircraft
Manufacturer, except for actions involving items that cannot be positively tested on
ground to verify that the aircraft's operational characteristics have not been
adversely affected. Service experience has shown that a non‐revenue flight is a good
practice following actions or repairs which could affect the aircraft's inherent
aerodynamic characteristics.
A test flight is required after:
• After a Major Structure Check, or
• After important repairs following an accident, or
• After change or reinstallation of both engines.

21 Glossary
21.1 Calibration/Adjustment
The application of specifically known and accurately measured input to ensure that
an item will produce specifically known output which is accurately measured or
indicated.
21.2 Check
Task performed to ensure that a system or component is still serviceable (check of
bottle weight, check of wiring circuit continuity, e.t.c.) or that pressures or fluid
levels are collect.
21.3 Detailed Visual inspection
Intensive visual checks of a specified detail, assembly of installation for evidence of
damage or irregularity. The inspection may require surface cleaning, elaborate
access procedures including removal of components where necessary and the use of
such inspection as flashlights, mirrors, magnifying glass etc.
21.4 Functional Test.
A quantitative check to determine if one or more functions of a system/sub‐system
of component performs within specified limits. This task may call for the use of
special test equipment.
21.5 General Visual Inspection.
A visual checks of an installation or structure for obvious unsatisfactory
conditions/discrepancies. This inspection may require the use of access equipment
(platform, work‐stands, etc), removal for fillet, fairing access panel/doors, etc, and
the use of such inspection aids as a flash light, mirrors.
21.6 Repeat Interval
The maximum permitted period that can separate total completion of a task from its
next accomplishment.
21.7 Life limit.
An item which must be removed from service and discarded before a specified time
is achieved.
21.8 Lubrication.
Term covering all types of lubrication (grease gun, spuirt can, spray, brush or hand
application) for the purpose of maintaining the inherent design operating capabilities
of an item.
21.9 Maintenance Task.
An action or set of actions required to achieve a desired outcome which maintains
an item (component, system/sub‐system, structure) in or restore an item to
serviceable condition.
21.10 Maintenance Significant Item.
Item identified by the manufacturer, whose failure:
• Could affect safety (ground of flight), and/or


• Is undetectable during operation and/or
• Could have significant operational economic impact or/on
• Could have significant non‐operational economic impact.
21.11 Operational Test.
A task to determine qualitatively that an item is fulfilling its intended purpose. This
task may include the reading of the aircraft instrument but does not require the
measurement of tolerances.
21.12 Replacement.
The action whereby an item is removed and another new or restored item is
installed in its place.
21.13 Restoration.
Term covering all actions (on/off the aircraft) necessary to return the item to a
specific standards.
21.14 Sampling
The monitoring and/or withdrawal of selected devices from service to permit
determination of their condition at predetermined progressive intervals.
21.15 Special Detailed Inspection.
An intensive check of a specific location requiring some special technique such as
non‐destructive test technique, dye penetrant, high powered magnification, etc and
that may require disassembly procedures.
21.16 Structural Significant Item.
A structural detail, structural element or structural assembly which is judged
significant by the manufacturers because of the reduction in aircraft residual
strength or loss of structural function which are consequences of its failure.
21.17 Threshold
Limit deadline at which the task must be accomplished for the first time.
(Subsequent accomplishment deadline are obtained by adding the repeat interval
and its multiples to the threshold).
21.18 Walk around Inspection.
A visual inspection conducted from ground level to detect obvious discrepancies.
21.19 Discard.
The removal from service of an item at a specified life limit.
21.20 Continuous Inspection.
A Continuous Inspection is the continuing airworthiness inspection of an airplane
and its various components and systems at scheduled intervals in accordance with
procedure prescribed by the Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) and manufacture
(Raytheon).
21.21 Routine Inspection.
Consist of visual inspection examination or check of appliances, the airplane and its
components and systems in so far as is practicable without disassembly.


22 Maintenance Program, Check Cycle and Permitted Variation
22.1 Maintenance Program
This maintenance program is based on the manufacturers recommended “continuous
inspection program” provides means of inspecting and maintain the aircraft on 50‐ and 200
hour basis. The detail inspection provides a thorough inspection of component and systems
and occurs at 200‐hour interval.
These higher inspections are supported by the following lower check:

The Pre flight checks
The Emergency Equipment Checks, and
The Daily Checks and Inspections
22.2 Maintenance Check Cycle
Routine inspection and servicing are conducted every 50 hour of operation.
Detailed Inspections of specific areas and systems of the aircraft are conducted every 200 hours
within a period of 1200 hours or 24 Calendar months whichever comes first.
The Inspection Cycle is divided into six Detailed Inspections and each inspection cycle is done at 200
hours with each consecutive Detailed Inspection within 200 hours after the previous inspection. The
Detailed Inspections are as follows:
First 200 – Hour Interval Detailed Inspection.
Second 200 – Hour Interval Detailed Inspection.
Third 200 – Hour Interval Detailed Inspection.
Fourth 200 – Hour Interval Detailed Inspection.
Fifth 200 – Hour Interval Detailed Inspection.
Sixth 200 – Hour Interval Detailed Inspection.

22.3 Permitted Variations
The Director of Quality Assurance will grant variations to the approved maintenance
program which includes maintenance checks and hard time components.

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES OR LIFE LIMITED PARTS/COMPONENTS WHICH ARE MANADATORY
AND CANNOT BE CHANGED, ESCALATED, OR DELETED WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE
MANUFACTURER AND APPROVED BY THE KCAA.

The maximum variation of a prescribed period is indicated below:
a) Items controlled by flight hours:
• 5000 flying hours or less: 5%
• More than 5000 flying hours: 500 flying hours
b) Items controlled by calendar time:
• 1 year or less: 5% or 1 month whichever is the lesser.
• More than 1 year, but not exceeding 3 years: 2 months
• More than 3 years: 3 months.
c) Items controlled by landing/cycles:
• 500 landings/cycles or less: 5% or 25 landing/cycles, whichever is the
lesser.
• More than 500 landings/cycles: 5% or 250 landings/cycles, whichever is
the lesser.

For items controlled by more than one limit, e.g. items controlled by flying hours and
calendar time or flying hours and landings/cycles, the more restrictive limit should
be applied.

22.4 Variation process control
For any further additional tolerance, prior to the commencement of the tolerance
the Base Maintenance Manager will ensure the aircraft is inspected to the degree
necessary to ensure that it is airworthy, and in a satisfactory condition to operate for
the period of the tolerance. Proof of acquiring the necessary components/test
equipment to accomplish the task will also be provided to the KCAA.
The Authority may then authorize the Quality control manger to issue variation
within specified limits. Depending on the nature of the variation, the Authority may
require the AMO to contact the manufacturer to assess the exemption request.


The Quality control manager is responsible to ask for variation to the Authority and
to inform the Maintenance department concerned and Certifying staff on receipt of
the Authority acceptance.
The variation shall be recorded in the appropriate aircraft or component logbook.

mounted to the airframe. Visually inspect for capstan or cable wear, contamination and proper spool off.
With the AP disengaged, operate each control system through it entire range and observe the servo
Mount for any unusual noise, binding, backlash or other mechanical irregularities.
