STEP1: TOWER informs APPROACH proposed departures

TWR: Approach (APP), Tower (TWR), proposed departure(s) HVN212.


APP: TWR APP, go ahead.
TWR: HVN212 A320 cleared to Noi Bai airport via AC W1 flight level 330.
APP: HVN212 cleared to Noi Bai airport via AC W1 FL330. KN

STEP 2: When taxiing acft is approaching Holding point RWY25L, Tower calls Approach to
request release (request departure instruction) for departing aircraft.

TWR: APP, request release HVN212 (or: request departure instruction for HVN212).
APP: HVN212 released via ANL1C departure, climb to FL 100.
TWR: HVN212 released via ANL1C departure, FL 100. DL
APP: KN

STEP 3: As just after the acft is airbone, TWR informs APP the take-off time

STEP 4: APPROACH calls Area Control Centre (ACC) to pass the take-off time, (if practical,
the estimated time/level over transfer point as weel)

STEP 5: After leaving TWR’s frequency, Pilot will call APP

estimating AC 12.

STEP 6: When departing acft approaching or over exit point (AC), APP will coordinate with
ACC to transfer the control responsibility of departing aircraft

STEP 2: APP informs TWR INBOUND acft (APP Assistant’s duty)

APP: SIA172 B747 from Singapore cleared to and estimating TSN 09:18, expect SG NDB
approach

STEP 3: ACC transfer acft to APP (ACC Assistant’s duty)

STEP 4: APP communicate with acft to issue information and appropriate instructions.
Notes:

- Aircraft coming from the SOUTH, SW & WEST (LATHA, BITIS, MISAN, SAPEN) will
be cleared to SG NDB via TSN VOR.
- Aircraft coming from the EAST (AC, BAOMY) will be cleared direct to SG NDB
- If aircraft is number 1 in sequence, the phraseologies may be like this:

APP: SIA TSN APP.
PIL: SIA172 over LATHA 09:10 maintaining FL110 (information Delta) request descent.
APP: SIA172 cleared to SG NDB via TSN VOR, descend to FL100, expect NDB

STEP 6 : APP issue approach clearance to acft (or Revised EAT if neccesary)

When acft (SIA172) report over TSN VOR/DME (and for acft coming from AC, BAOMY: 2 or 3
minutes before SG), APP controller should issue APP Clearance early enough to acft.

PIL: APP, SIA172 over TSN VOR maintaining 7000ft.


APP: SIA172 descend to 3000ft, QNH 1012, cleared SG NDB approach rwy 25L, report
SG outbound and leaving 3000ft.
PIL: Descend to 3000ft, QNH 1012, cleared SG NDB approach rwy 25L, will report SG
outbound and leaving 3000ft, SIA172
(few minutes later)

PIL: SIA172 SG outbound and leaving 3000ft.


APP: SIA172 report SG inbound.
PIL: Wilco SIA172.

STEP 7: APP will inform TWR the position and approach sequence of arriving acft to enable
TWR arrange their departing traffic or acft training around aerodrome traffic circuit
with arriving acft.

APP: TWR APP SIA172 SG outbound at 09:20 leaving 3000ft, number one in sequence,
coming to you.
TWR: Send him over. LK
APP: PT.

STEP 8: APP instruct acft to change to TWR’s frequency

PIL: SIA172 SG inbound.


APP: SIA172 contact TSN Tower 118.7.
PIL: 118.7, SIA172.

STEP 9: TWR inform APP when they have 1 st landing acft in sight and landing can be
assured to enable APP to clear 2nd arriving acft for approach.

TWR: APP TWR, SIA 172 in sight, landing assured.

Phraseologies for the following aircraft:

PIL: TSN Approach HVN1450.


APP: HVN1450 TSN APP.
PIL: HVN1450 over AC 09:15 FL120 (information ECHO) request descent.
APP: HVN1450 cleared to SG NDB and hold, expect NDB approach runway 25L,
Expected Approach Time (EAT) 09:27 descend to 7000ft, QNH 1012, report leaving
FL120.
PIL: Cleared to SG NDB and hold, expect NDB approach runway 25L, EAT 09:27
leaving FL120 descending to 7000ft, QNH1012, HVN1450.

The following aircraft may be cleared for approach when the following conditions are fulfilled:

- The first aircraft in the sequence is in radio communication with the control tower.
- TWR has the acft in sight and reasonably assured that the safe landing can be made (if the
acft can not seen by TWR, number two can not be cleared for approach until number one
has landed).

Note: A revises EAT shall be transmitted to the acft without delay, when the revision is 5 minutes
or more.
