Moulana Mohammed Saleem's brief biography

 
Many people were well known and aware of him, but the books
of biographies are silent about him. He was a great learned
person of his time, and he will find a state of fear of Allah upon
him always. One event is well known and famous which is
related to him. The Fikir has heard this event from many elder
persons.But I have heard this event by Hazrat Sufi Ali
Mohammed, resident of Basti Shaikh Darwesh, and at that time
he told me that his son is still alive and in those days this
undersigned person used to be engaged in the leather business in
Chatta bazaar in Lahore. And I had no habit of reading
biographies, and I couldn't possibly expect to write biography
books on my own. If I had met the son of Hazrat, then I could
have been able to write a complete biography of Hazrat Moulana
Mohammed Saleem.
 
Sir Syed had written a short version of the Quran in the form of
a brief synopsis at the time, according to his English rulers, who
were accustomed to mocking Islamic religion and Muslim
scholars.
The Muslim scholars of Jalandhar had arranged a delegation
to prohibit Sir Syed in this matter as well as to destroy the short
version of the book of Quran in the form synopsis on this matter,
and that delegation was ready to go to Aligarh. Among the
learned people, some have given advice to contact Moulana

Mohammed Saleem in Jalandhar in this respect. So a group of

the delegation of the learned people went in to the presence of
him and requested him to join in the delegation to Aligarh in the
presence of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. For this reason, he told them
"That person, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, is unable to be controlled
by any person, so for this reason, there should be one Muslim
scholar in the delegation. So that he will lead the delegation and
talk with him on this matter. " So all of them said in one tone of
the language that "There is no one better than him." And
everyone has tried their best to make him the head of the
delegation in charge of this matter. But he told them that "There
is one of my conditions that whatever I do and say, all of you
should be silent at that time in my talking there." As a result, all
learned Muslims have accepted his condition.
The delegation arrived in the presence of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.
When Sir Syed Ahmed came before them to meet the
delegation, at that time, Moulana Mohammed Saleem suddenly
put his head before him on the ground. All the learned people
were confused, but due to their promise, all were silent. Sir Syed
was worried. And he began to lift him from the ground. And at
some time, Moulana Mohammed Saleem stood on the ground,
and Sir Syed told him that "What he has done except Allah,
there is not allowed prostration before anybody." And Moulana
said, "There are two Gods." One has sent Quran in detail and he
has mentioned at different places in the holy book that "He has
explained the book in detail. And another God you are, and you
have abridged the holy Quran and presented a short version of
the Quran, which has been sent by  first God who has sent the
holy Quran in detail." Sir Syed had become answerless and he
had destroyed his short version of the Quran on this matter. And

he has presented to learned people his apology and has sent back
the Muslim scholars with much respect and honour.
The learned people who were confused before and later
appreciated the wisdom and intelligence of Moulana
Mohammed Saleem and returned back to Jalandhar with
success.
Hazrat used to live in his room, and he did not usually meet the
people. And Hazrat used to live always in the remembrance of
Allah, and the date of the death of Hazrat was not known.
