The fractions are the topic of discussion in my fourth week of tutoring. As we get
started, I'll go through the fundamental operations of mathematics, which are addition,
subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as their applications. Before anything else, I
describe the method of how we can apply the fundamental operations to whole numbers in
order for her to understand the distinction between whole numbers and fractions. When she
observes, she quickly understands the fundamental operations if the numbers are in whole
numbers. After that, I demonstrated how to apply the fundamental operations to fractions,
which she found difficult. When she doesn't comprehend something, I go over it with her step
by step until she understands it. However, I've noticed that she has difficulty with addition and
subtraction, particularly when the denominator of two fractions is different.
I gave her two assignments so that I could figure out what exact topic I would be
teaching her till she understood the idea completely. After she completes those tasks, I note
that she has a good understanding of the subject and suggest that she should practice
computing those fundamental operations of mathematics in fraction form.
I want to teach her the square roots at our next meeting because they will be attending
a face-to-face session where that will be the focus.
