videos and cooking. I love playing with dogs and organizing study table.

Likes/Interest: I prefer to clean the house while listening to music all the time. I also enjoy keeping track of my school stuff. I've

friends here, but I only play a limited amount of time and must prioritize my tasks. I want to be a soldier but my dad doesn't
allow me to be a soldier. I have so much interest in gun. I enjoy playing with dogs because it helps me relax. When I want to have
a good time, I just go on social media and watch random videos. I also wish to visit Switzerland since it is peaceful and beautiful.
Peaceful surroundings attract to me.

This is a piece of fiction. It was published at 1230 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10020 in April 1992. The author of this
book, Lynn Beach, also known as Kathryn Lance, has written 60 books, with the Phantom Valley series being the most popular
among them. It is available in numerous cities throughout the world, including New York, London, Toronto, Sydney, Tokyo, and
Singapore.

I chose this book because it captures the heart of the content and the book cover makes me want to read it. I enjoy reading
mysterious literature. My brother recommended this book because the twin siblings' story, behavior, and attitude are similar to
mine and my brother's. And I recognized right away that it had a lot of moral implications that I could apply to my own life.

1.2 CONTEXT

This story has a Marxism context. It has a lot of conflict with a solution to its struggle.

"I'm in trouble, the quiz is tomorrow, and I don't know anything!" Tracy said on this sentence.
Stacy responded, "Don't be so upset, come on, I'll help you study." This sentence exemplifies Marxism since, as siblings,
especially as twins, there is struggle and as a regular student, Tracy will be placed on academic probation if she fails the quiz.
Stacy, being a wise and kind sister, assists her sister in resolving her problem.

Stacy is in the Phantom Valley era, which is 150 years ago, and she is trying to figure out how to get out of it and back to the
present day, when everything is modernized and no one is hurting her. When she rushes away to look in the mirror to figure out
how to get out of that time and place, she is always threatened. In this case, it demonstrates how oppression is contained within
the Marxist context. It depicts Stacy's maltreatment, yet she is still trying to find a solution to overcome her difficulties.

1.3 SETTINGS

Silverbell was chosen as the setting for this story by Lynn Beach because it is a replica of Phantom Valley. Silverbell (It includes
the Chilleen academy and Flea market where the siblings school and where they bought the antique mirror) on the other hand,
is in a more modern condition, with a focus on technology and modernization. The author choose this because the author brings
to life the ancient period which we have already neglected to value.

1.4 PLOT
There are twin sisters, they are Tracy James and Stacy James. Stacy is more industrious and smarter than Tracy but Tracy was the
firstborn of them. They are difficult to identify because they are identical twins. Even their aunt Louise has a hard time figuring
out who Stacy is and who Tracy is to them. Aunt Louise is a librarian at the county historical society in Silverbell. She knows a lot
about history where she told the twins about Phantom Valley and she took it to the flea market where there are many antique
items but it is in good condition. As they walked around the booths, Stacy saw a free-standing, full-length mirror. Stacy looked
Tracy in the eyes. "Tracy, look at this!" she exclaimed. Stacy was awestruck by the mirror since it features several geometrical
designs, including a large circle on the right side that is lighter and a stained enormous dark circle on the left. Stacy enjoys
history stories as well, and her favorite subject is history, so it's no surprise that she's impressed with it. "Isn't the mirror
beautiful?" Stacy asked, to which Tracy answered, "It really is, but the mirror section is rather dark." Until the booth owner
spoke out. "It's because it's so old, which is why the mirror is so dark; it was allegedly created by an amateur astronomer in the
1830s."Those large circles are the phases of the moon." Stacy was amazed and when her aunt Louise saw her, she immediately
asked Stacy if she wanted to buy it. Stacy immediately answered yes.

On the following night, the two were surprised and nervous because instead of seeing their own reflection in the mirror, they
saw someone else, a stranger girl in old-fashioned clothes. The woman in the mirror is the same age as them but has bright red
hair with two long braids. She was wearing a long-sleeved blue checked dress covered with a white apron. As the twin watched,
the girl bent over a wooden tub and stirred something in it with a paddle. "What's she doing?" asked Tracy. "I think she's
churning a butter." her sister answered. And it happens, again and again, every night while the moon is bright. Again and again,
there is a woman showing up in the mirror until the point comes that there is also an old woman showing up.

The day of Tracy’s quiz on the history subject came. Because of Tracy's excitement the night before, she'd forgotten to finish
studying. She knew she didn't have a chance of passing. The only answer is Stacy. She told Stacy that "If I flunk the quiz, I'll go on
academic probation." Out of pity and of course her sister, Stacy couldn't stand it. They planned for Stacy to attend Tracy's
History quiz and Tracy to attend Stacy's Art class. Tracy has only ten minutes to get to Stacy's Art class, and if she doesn't, she'll
be late, and it'll be clear that she's Tracy because Stacy has never been late. Until she forgot she was supposed to be at Stacy's
Art class. She told Stacy that she had gone to art class even though she hadn't. Stacy was very angry.

Later, the girl and the old woman appeared again in the mirror. The strange girl smiled at Stacy and Stacy smiled at her too. Until
the girl offered her hand to Stacy, later Stacy approached and she was surprised when she held her hand. Stacy shouted "Help!".
She began twisting, pulling at the girl's hand. Tracy ran to the mirror and grabbed her sister, to try to help her. She was too late.
While Tracy watched horrified, the red-haired girl gave a final, violent tug, and Stacy was gone! She had been pulled inside the
smooth glass surface of the mirror.
"You've come!" exclaimed a girl, her voice sweet. "You've come, just as I knew you would." The hand tugged on Stacy's and
turned her around. She found herself facing a mirror that was just like the one in her room. "My name is Philomena," the girl
said. "I live here, and now you do too. What is your name?" "I'm Stacy James. But I don't live here at all." Until the old woman
came. "Demon child! What are you doing here, you strange, unearthly demon child?" Stacy was scared of the old woman.

Stacy was abused for the next few days because she ran away whenever Philomena and the old woman were sleeping to look in
the mirror because she didn't want to be stuck in that place and time. When the elderly woman does not do her housework, she
becomes enraged. There's still a risk it will kill her. Stacy saw an axe. She pondered for a long time. "Isn't this the same weapon
she used on her sister, who she claims died?"

Tracy, on the other hand, while at Chilleen Academy, she pretends to be Stacy. She was very sad and tired, she did not know
what to do. While Stacy who was at the other time and time escaped to Philomena to look in the mirror. Stacy was too excited
to see her sister to do anything but stare, tears forming in her eyes. Tracy looked tired, unhappy and probably from worrying
about her. And then suddenly Tracy's expression changed to one of joy. She recognized Stacy on the other side of the mirror.
They could see each other! Stacy repeats moon. "The moon," Stacy said, again hoping Tracy could read her lips. "The new moon
and the full moon" Again Tracy seemed puzzled. Finally, she did repeat the word moon. Excited, Stacy nodded yes, then
repeated, "New moon," She was about to add, "Full moon," when she heard a noise behind her. Philomena. She darted toward
the stove, picked up one of the flatirons, and threw it straight at the mirror. On the other hand, Tracy is worried about her sister
because she saw that the woman with Stacy was very angry. The next day, she went to the library because she found out that
there was a book there that had been there for about months. She immediately looked at the date on which the moon would
shine again. She found out that it was on Sunday, exactly at 8:30 pm. She is so excited because there is a chance that she can
save Stacy and get her back. Because of that incident, Stacy was nervous and calmed Philomena down. She said she had no plans
to leave, she just wanted to see her sister because she already missed it. Eventually, she won Philomena's heart. Philomena said
"That's all you want? I will allow you to look through the mirror, just once, to be sure that everything is all right. On Sunday,
there is a special power about the new moon. During that time the images is as bright as during the full moon. " Stacy was
thrilled when she learned that Philomena had allowed her to see Tracy. But she had in mind that this was his chance to escape.
Sunday came. Both siblings are excited. As Stacy and Philomena eat breakfast with the old woman, Stacy wonders that the
mirror is gone. She asked this of Philomena. When the old woman suddenly replied that she had sold it to their neighbor but she
did not name it. She also said that she also asked Philomena if she needed it and Philomena replied that she didn't need it
anymore. The old woman added that the buyer will be leaving for another place because the glass will be given as a gift at the
wedding. Stacy was very sad. After they ate, Stacy and Philomena were instructed by the old woman to give water to the piglets.
Later on, the old woman shouted and called Philomena that she needed help. Philomena approached. "You can do that, Stacy."
said the old man. Stacy just nodded. As she puts water on the piglets, she thinks about how she can find the glass so she can get
out of that world. She didn't realize that the pig had disappeared and ran into the forest. Philomena and the old woman could
not see her because it was far from him. She chased the pig until they reached the forest. When she caught it she was surprised
by a board placed in the forest. "Sister." She thought and was scared because she thought that she might be the next one that
Philomena would kill because she was often called sister and she remembered her ax in the room. When she got home she
asked her. "Where are you from Stacy?" Stacy replied when "I chased the pig into the woods, it disappeared." Philomena just
nodded. Until Stacy didn't know what to do, especially since she didn't know where the person who bought the glass lived. That
night, while Philomena and I were asleep, Stacy ran away from the house and ran into the woods. She saw a house which was
very dark and scary.

While Tracy on the other hand has joined the contest. She should win because she is pretending that Stacy and Stacy are good
on the field of competition. Eventually, she won. She checked his time and it was 8:15. A prof approached her and said she
would talk to her. Tracy refused because there were only a few minutes left until 8:30. The professor still talked to her and she
did nothing. 8:25. She left the professor and said that she felt bad so she could go to the room and reach for the mirror.

Looking back at the mirror again, she began to see images appear. Instead of the old- fashioned kitchen, the mirror filled with
the interior of some large, dark place. Tracy asking herself. "What was this place? More important, where was Stacy?" Panicking,
Tracy ran her hands over the carvings at the top of the mirror, but nothing changed. She continued to peer into the mirror,
frantic. Then she saw movement, and Stacy's face appeared. "Stacy!" she cried, overwhelmed with relief. Now the girls' fingers
touched, and they clasped hands. Tracy made sure she had a good grip, then began to pull, gently tugging her sister to her side
of the mirror. She could feel Stacy moving toward her, but then, suddenly, Stacy's body jerked. Then, a moment later, something
grabbed her by the shoulders, hard. Without turning around, Stacy knew it was Philomena. With superhuman strength
Philomena was pulling Stacy back, pulling both twins back, through the mirror and into the world of past. Stacy felt something
hit her, hard, on the head. The mirror and the barn swirled dizzily before her. Then everything went black. Tracy trying to pull
her sister back out of the mirror. "Stacy! Stacy!" Tracy called. Her sister's eyes were closed. She hooked her feet around the
bottom of the mirror frame in her room, then shifted her grip so that she was holding Stacy's wrists. "I'm going to bring you
home now, Stacy," she said to her unconscious sister. "Help me if you can." Tracy started to pull upward, but Stacy hardly
moved. She was too weak to help. "Help me!" she cried again. Standing above Stacy was the red-haired girl Tracy had first seen
in the old-fashioned kitchen. The girl's expression was mad. "She's the one. She's the one who's trying to pull me through the
mirror. She knocked Stacy on the head, and now she won't let me bring Stacy home" Tracy thought. In her hands was a heavy
axe with dark stains on its blade. Her face twisted in a hideous smile, and then she whispered a single word: "sister."

"No!" Tracy screamed. With more strength than she knew she had, she pulled her sister out of the way. As she did, she lifted one
foot and it came away from its anchor at the bottom of the mirror. "Help me, Stacy!" she begged again. She got her foot secured
under the mirror just as the girl was ready to swing her arms down again. Stacy stirred, her eyes opening wide. Tracy felt the
strange tingling as her body moved from the world of the past back into the world of the present. With a final tug, she pulled
Stacy all the way through, and the twins fell to the floor, the floor of their room at Chilleen. Tracy raised her eyes to the mirror
and saw a horrifying sight: the mirror was cut into two, then fell to the floor, where the glass shattered into hundreds of tiny
pieces. "You're safe now, Stacy," she murmured to her sister. After all, Stacy said, looking at her sister, "we found out we didn't
really need a mirror."

1.6 LITERARY DEVICES/TECHNIQUES

Symbolism is one of the literary devices employed in this piece. The antique mirror is a reminder of the past. It depicts what life
was like before technology and when everything was done manually.

1.7 THEME

There's a lot I've learned from this story. First and foremost, you must study diligently and do your responsibilities. Don't put
your trust in others since you are on your own; you understand your responsibilities as a student and a youngster. Set a good
example for future generations. Second, if you have a sibling, always collaborate with them because there is no one else to
collaborate with. Always love each other because, according to the story I read, losing a sibling or a loved one is painful. Learn to
forgive no matter how awful or good things are done to you. Third, don't be fooled by what you see. It's a good idea to analyze it
attentively first and acknowledge it completely. Don't get taken in by distractions. Learn to be self-sufficient and develop a
solution to the situation. Lastly, respect the past as well as the present. We are fortunate that we are currently living in a
generation that has never known sorrow. You will always be grateful to God since simply existing in this universe is a huge gift.
Everyone who loves you deserves your affection.

1.8 TRYING IT TOGETHER

In this Stranger in the Mirror story, Tracy learns that she can study well and that she does not have to rely on her sister. While
Stacy learned that not everything she knew back then can be applied to her current life, I know she appreciated history and life
back then. It is critical that we, as a new generation, be reconciled and united. After everything that had transpired to the
siblings, they recognized they didn't need a mirror in their lives. Just like what happened to them, they do not have to wait for
each other to be meticulous.

1.9 RECOMMENDATION

This is a book that you should read. You may apply numerous moral lessons to your life, especially if you are a student. You will
also discover what the significance of life is and who you should trust. This book is interesting and entertaining since, in addition
to being literature, it signifies that you will not give up even when confronted with a challenge or fear. All you need is the
bravery to face your fears and the belief that you can overcome them. This book was recommended to me by my brother, and
now I'm going to tell you that it's one of the books I've read that has a great story flow. This book has taught me everything I
know about academics and lateral thinking. As a result, it is worthwhile to read. Of course, I owe a great debt of gratitude to the
author, Lynn Beach aka Kathryn Lance, who passed away in January 2022. I hope you're at peace now. Thank you for creating
such a fantastic story.
