1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Description
The Auxiliary Power Supplies provides a medical grade power supply rated 24 VAC, 150 VA
(2.7A) and an optional 24 VDC, 65 W.

This option is used with an EPS generator and requires that the generator be supplied by a
400Y/230VAC electrical line (230 VAC Phase-to-Neutral). The electrical line must therefore
provide a neutral wire to be connected to J2 (Neutral) lug on the Line Filter Board P/N 9916.00.

Prerequisite for this option is the use of a 400Y/230 VAC three-phase line for
electrical supply of the EPS generator. The neutral must be connected on the
neutral lug of the Line Filter board; see Technical Manual for connection.

side of the Line-Access Panel. Note that the option version P/N 10 023.001 does not include
the Power Transformer and the 24 VAC output.

1.2 Generator Configuration

When the Auxiliary Power Supplies option is fitted on the generator, the regular
generator hardware setup is modified for the following configuration.
1. The contacts for K1 power-on relay normally provided on pins 3 & 4 of connector J7
(Line Filter Board P/N 9916.xx) are not available with this option. Instead, the installer
can use the 24 VDC (+/-) output supply, located on the Auxiliary Power Supplies’ upper
terminal strip, inner side of the Line-Access Panel (see Figures 1 & 3).
2. Fuses F3 & F4 (4A-500VAC/DC) are installed on the board.
3. The quick connect jumper installed between TB3-TB4 on the regular generator is replaced
by the following two (2) quick connect jumpers: 1. TB3-TB1 and 2. TB4-TB5.

2 INSTALLATION

2.1 Power Line Connection

1. Refer to your Technical Manual for the complete power line connection instructions.

2. Make sure the mains line is turned off at the main circuit breaker.

3. When removing the Line-Access Panel at the back of the EPS High-Voltage Generator, it is
recommended to unplug the Auxiliary Output wires from J7 of Line Filter Board P/N 9916.00
(Figure 2). If you do not disconnect
them, be aware that all of the weight of
the panel does not apply directly on the
connected wires.

- The Line-Access Panel will be reinstalled at

the end of the generator installation only -

4. When connecting Unplug Auxiliary Output Wires

the mains line of the From J7- pins 3 & 4
disconnect switch to
the Line Filter Board, make sure that a
Neutral is connected to J5 lug. Do not
use DELTA line configuration.

2.2 K2 Relay and Auxiliary Output Supplies Connection

1. It is recommended to perform the X-ray tube connection before the following

section is done. Refer to your Technical Manual for instructions.

2. If used in your installation, connect K2 programmable relay,. K2’s contacts are programmed
using Epsilon PC Tools; see Technical Manual, Chapter 4.

3. On the inner side of the Line-Access Panel, connect the 24

VDC output on the upper terminal strip. If fit with the option,
connect the 24 VAC output on the lower terminal strip.

4. Reinstall the Auxiliary Output wires on J7 pins 3 (H) & 4 (N) of Line Filter Board.

5. Reinstall the Line-Access Panel.

6. Firmly attach the 24 VDC (/VAC) output wires using the cable holder.
