The dramatical play “A Raisin in the Sun” is a depiction of an African poor family trying to live their
American Dream. Lena (Mama), the mother of the Youngers has always dreamed of owning a house. So, when
she received the money from her husband’s insurance, she immediately paid an initial amount for a house in
Clybourne Park. Her son, Walter, has a completely different dream of which is to invest the money in a liquor
business to aid the family’s financial hardship. Beneatha, the youngest daughter of Mama dreams differently, she
wants to finish medical school and wants to spend the money for her tuition.
