Falben

Half-elf, College of Lore

Age: 24 years old

For as long as he can remember, Falben has always

been in a child of the city. He has been living among
the orphanage institution of the Capital city,
without knowing his parents.

He has always been together with his twin-sister,

Alfen, trudging up and down the streets, market
and building of the capital city.
Like all orphanage kids, his daily routine has
consisted, among other things, in pickpocketing,
robbing a few jewellery and fruit, so as to spend this
little money they could found in card games, and
other small pleasures of life. It was around that time that, having steal a lute, he started to
learn the instrument and quickly he became known for the dominion of this art with his twin
sister as main singer of its songs and compositions.

He has seen week after week pass living among the orphanage kids, which he considered at
the time being his only family, or what he knew that was closer to one. Though soon
enough, he knew the true purpose of the charity orphanage which he was living in. One day,
one bald man came during the kid’s break time. He was already famous and known by
the older kids, he was called “grams”. Known close councilman of the local duke that
governed the city, he used the knowledge of the city, rumours that they have heard, and
sneak-around abilities of the kids to gather information. Despite his angelical face, Falben
and Alfen were use for high-risk mission, listeners and assassinates of important people in
the city, where both of the twins used their dominion of music and persuasion to access the
mansions of the noble city families.

War changed everything, both for the twins as for all of the orphanage kids. The kingdom
was at war with a foreign invader. After many weeks, its army was finally at the cities gate.
When the gates broke, the raiding started throughout the city: robbery, brutal killings and
burned houses among other things became the reality of that day. The orphanage was
burned to the ground, and the children tried to survive hiding among the debris of the
destroyed buildings. Falben and Alfen were separated during the tumultuous of the raiding,
this would be the last time that Falben will see his sister, since she reported missing
afterwards. Nor was she the only one. The day after, a new duke was reigning over the
Capital city, and the word was on the street that “grams”, the former councilman of the
former governor, was declared missing.

The orphanage kids group was disbanded soon afterwards, and Falben stayed at the Capital
city to investigate about Alfen. He spend his mornings at the library, reading and studying so
to become more powerful in his dominion of spell-casting and perhaps learn something to
locate Alfen, and his afternoons hitting the streets for any rumour of its sister fate. During
that time, he shared apartment with a friend from the orphanage, Alandir, a rogue
mastermind who tried to start a new underground group of spies. Time passed, and Alandir
was eager for Alfen to join its project. But Alfen wasn’t the same anymore, his own readings
and studying showed him that there is more to the world than just one city, and while time
went on, he accepted his fate and his sister’s disappearance. At the same time, his reading
gave him a new perspective of music and life, far from the betrayal, assassinations and theft
that marked his youth.

Wanting to discover more of the world, and wanting to believe that he is destined for more
than a rogue-life or a street-musician life of the city, he packed his things and went on
outside the cities gate searching for new experiences.
