Development Studies is an interdisciplinary discipline of research and education that focuses on the

topic of “development”. It looks at the individuals, organizations, practices, and knowledge involved in
social, cultural, ecological, and political transformation, as well as the people, organizations, practices,
and knowledges that contribute to these development related process. Development is a broad branch
of study that focuses on the topic of development. The term “development” is a contentious term that
incorporates two distinct sets of concerns.

The first is about social, cultural, ecological, economic and political transformation processes. In this
view, development can both a normative concept that indicates progressive change and a source of
critism, with emphasis on the uneven, conflecting, and potentially detrimental implications of
development related change. The second group of issues is about architecture that is designed to
achieve certain objectives, which are frequently related to increasing people’s well being and ensuring
the long-term use of natural resources. This “architecture” involves a wide range of actors, including
nations, multilateral oeganizations, non-government organizations, multinational firms, small business,
community-based organizations, local volunteers, and others. The study of delibarate development
might be directed at improving development practice by working with this groups and individuals, at
revealing the unintended and potentially detrimental implications of growth. These two sets of concerns
can be examined independently, but they are inextricably linked and, in many ways, should be studied
together. Intentional development is a part of larger transformation processes understanding these
processes in historical and contemporary contexts is critical to improving development practice and
revealing its repercussions. All concepts of development are relational global processes that take place
in and between all countries, and are influenced by and have effects at local and individuals levels. The
DSAA recognized that Development Studies is a contentious topic, and we strive to advance the
discipline by fostering continuing ang open discourse and debate about the complicated nature of
development – what is it, what varied actors believe it should be, and how to get there.

I’m not a political analyst nor an economist but base of my observation on how our leaders addresses
the problem within our city and even the whole province is 8 in a scale of 1-10. There are a lot of
development, more infrastructure leads to more job. Tourism also acknowledge worldwide and it’s a
sign that our province is developing and governed accordingly.
