1) What does the author want us to know?

The author of the article titled “Cow’s Milk: A Cruel and Unhealthy Product” is trying to warn
the readers about how cruelty in cows around the world is present, including the possible
dangers of their milk that pose a huge threat to humans—as consumers. The author briefly
emphasized that most cows raised for the dairy industry are intensively confined, leaving
them unable to fulfill their most basic desires, such as nursing their calves, even for a single
day. They are treated like milk-producing machines and are genetically manipulated and
pumped full of antibiotics and hormones. This, in turn, leads the author to present arguments
about cow's milk, as it recently has been targeted by the media for having a presumed
deleterious role in the development of both acute and chronic diseases in young and older
children. Milk consumption has been even recently considered “a major health hazard and
‘the promoter of Western chronic diseases.”
2) What different interpretations are possible?

In everyday life, people interpret information by drawing from their history and the things
they have been through. For example, the article "Cruelty to Cows: How Cows Are Abused
for Meat and Dairy Products" may elicit a variety of perspectives and ideas from readers
who come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. After reading the article, a person who is
an animal rights activist and health aware may feel commiserated; on the other hand,
persons whose enterprises are strongly tied to the milk industry may have a negative aura
reading as a result of the story.
3) How would you describe the values and interests
of the author of the text?

People from the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), an animal rights organization founded in
Asia that also fights for veganism, an end to the use of fur, and the termination of animal testing,
was the organization that penned the essay. This merely goes to prove that the author is a
certified animal rights champion whose values and interests involve the holistic well-being of
animals all over the globe. This is shown by the fact that the author is an animal rights
enthusiast. One of the unifying aims of animal rights activists is to prevent the exploitation of
animals in whatever way possible, regardless of the strategies that animal rights activists use. In
addition, many animal rights activists work to lessen the amount of pain that chickens and
other farm animals go through throughout their lives and to improve the degree of dignity
with which they are treated, despite the fact that these creatures will almost certainly be killed
in the end. These activists are able to improve the quality of life for millions of animals by
concentrating on alleviating the suffering of animals while they work toward their ultimate
objective of putting an end to the exploitation of animals.
4) What view of the world is the text presenting?

The worldview that the author of the essay provided to the readers is one that may be
completely transformed. They prioritize in-depth education that is beneficial to society and
constructive in nature. In their essay, they described a mode of conversation that goes
beyond the simple act of learning new information. They were able to question and cast
doubt on their existing presumptions, as well as evaluate the validity of these presumptions
in a critical and meticulous manner. In the instance when he offered ideas as to what we, as
humans, may do to fix the situation, it was found that these cognitions are anchored in social
or cultural beliefs rather than their own meaning structures. This was revealed in the case
where he made the solutions. In general, it provides the reader with constructive and
analytical approaches to give meaning to the termination of animal exploitation, notably on
cows.
5) How is power used and what effect
does power have on the readers?

Putting your ideas, emotions, and thoughts down on paper in written form is known as
writing. It would be an understatement to suggest that it is critical for us to project an image
of power and authority even on days when we are not feeling particularly good about
ourselves. The author employed power in the essay in such a manner that it informed,
motivated, and inspired the readers; the piece has this good feel in conveying messages
regarding the subject of animal cruelty. Writing this post is the only method for them to
share their expertise and enthusiasm with others since there is no other option. In response,
readers such as myself are more susceptible to the messages that were meant to be conveyed
by the product. With the article, it prompted the readers to start talking about animal rights
and welfare after, which helped by raising awareness about the subject and showing people
who were listening that animal concerns are important enough to fight for and debate. One
powerful approach to make a difference in the lives of animals is to provide time, money, or
energy to an organization that advocates for animal rights. However, this is not an option for
everyone.
6) Whose voice is missing and what alternate ways
can text be presented to give voice to the silenced?

Due to the fact that cows and their offspring, including calves and steers, are used for a
variety of reasons, their perspectives were not included in this article. Cows are maintained
in order to produce milk, and in order to do so, they are kept in a continuous reproductive
cycle. This means that once they have given birth to their calves and been removed from
them for a brief period of time, they are milked until they are once again made pregnant.
Animal rights activists, on the other hand, may be found in every imaginable social milieu
and location on the planet. Despite their diversity, though, they have a singular goal: to
alleviate the suffering of animals. Even though the movement has traditionally had problems
with human representation, there has been work done to guarantee that anybody who loves
for animals and wants to make a positive change in their life is welcomed into the movement
and has a space to call their own within it.

We are able to improve the quality of life for millions of animals by placing our primary
emphasis on alleviating their pain while we work toward our ultimate objective of ending all
forms of animal exploitation.
