I. Location: Position on Earth's Surface

What are the latitude and longitude coordinates of your absolute location.

Latitude 31.447295 N

Longitude 74.254395 E

What is your relative location and the relationship of your location to other locations?

Shoukat khanam hospital is located 1.77028 Km North East of my location.

Forman Christian College University is located 10.7828 Km North East of my location

Thokar Niaz baig ( 31.470932, 74. 241229) is located 4.667 km north east of location.

Raiwind Road is approximately 1 Km west of location.

How does the importance of your location change over time?

I live 4 km far from thokar niaz baig. My location is important throughout the year. Many
people move outside and inside the Lahore city. There is no snow fall during winter but
summer are little bit extreme around 49°C. Thokar has a dry port at city entrance so this
place is important for transport.
 II. Place: Physical and Human Characteristics

How would you describe where you live physically? Is your place flat or hilly, hot or
cold, wet or dry? What natural resources are found there?

I live in flat place. This is developed area. Human infrastructure is developed. There are
not any natural resources like mineral, metals or fossil fuels resources. But there is
agricultural land that is nearby areas.

What are some of the human characteristics that describe your place? For example,
what types of houses are there? Are patterns of land use different from those in other
parts of the country? What types of industry are found, and how might they be
different from industries in other parts of the country?

Most houses around my area are influenced by Spanish style architecture. There are
plain roofs. Almost all houses are multi storey. The pattern of land use is different then
other parts. Because the are is plain and there aren't mountains so houses adjacent to
each other. Unlike mountain areas or rural areas the houses in my areas are small in
size but comfortable. Rural areas have large size houses because of cheap land but my
area is quite expensive so sizes are relatively small.

The Industries are transport, construction, IT and hospitality industry. It is different from
other parts of country because other parts have agricultural, textile different
manufacturing materials like steel.

III. Human/Environment Interaction: Shaping the Landscape

What examples of human/environment interaction do you see in your area?

Examples

 Road and Bridges are built to facilitate the transport.

  Agricultural land was turned to real estate. For housing and living purposes
 In summer there is heat above 40°C so people use air conditioners and in winter
it's freezing so the use of heaters is very common in my area.

Do you see evidence of exploited resources?

The only exploited resource I see destruction of agricultural land and building of real
estates. The place where i live and surrounding areas used to be good agricultural land
but now they are gone.

Do you see changes in the landscape in animal habitats? Are there changes in the air,
water, and soil?

There are not much changes in animal habitat but the air is warm and heated due heavy
influx of population and rise of pollution. Water is not drinkable. It is hard water and
contaminated and can only be used for washing bathing purposes.

As for soil, it is hard. If this was previously fertile land the soil must be soft but soil has
turned hard.

IV. Movement: Humans Interacting on the Earth

What examples of movement of people, goods, or ideas do you see in your area?

In Lahore, there is movement of people from all over Pakistan. It is capital city of
Punjab. In my area people have moved from nearby towns and villages for better
education. My family also moved because of that. Many people are here because of
Job.

Has immigration had an impact on your area? If so, what has happened?
My area is nearby thokar and wapda town phase 2. These areas had developed within a
decade. Most people in these areas immigrated from other places mainly towns and
villages for better education and job. This influx of people had caused people from
different areas to reside at one place. It had also resulted in loss of agricultural land
because of development of real estate projects.

What are the transportation routes in your area?

 In my nearby area to move outside of city transportation routes are Multan road
by thokar niaz baig.
 Motorway.
 Inside city it is canal road thah is mostly important

5) Regions: How they Form and Change

How many different regions can you identify within your area?

Based on language, religion, cultural and climate there are not multiple regions in my
area. But there are very few people that moved from outside of county fir job like African
countries.

How many larger regions does your area belong to?

My area belongs to central Punjab region
