1. Who created the message? Is the source reliable? Was is by news organization, a public citizen,
an editorial team of a scientific journal, an advertiser, or a writer?

On February 15, 2022 journalists who came from Philippine Star News was present on
the SMNI Presential debate. The photo that was used on this activity was a dialogue
from Leody De Guzman an aspiring presidential candidate on this upcoming 2022
election. De Guzman is also known as ‘Ka-Leody’ by the many Filipinos. The Philippine
Star news was the one who quoted De Guzman’s dialogue from the said debate. As per
it' reliability and legitimacy, The Philippine Star News is a reliable source, Philippine Star
News or Philstar News is one of the Philippines’ leading and most recognized brands in
terms of journalism. Phlstar News is the top destination for a broad content, be it social,
political, business, sports, entertainment, or lifestyle news.

2. What does the message say (subject, main point, support)? Is the information fair and logical?
What points of view are shared in the message? Which ones are left out? What images or
sounds catch your attention?

De Guzman wants to tell us that the Filipinos should vote for him because he did not
engage in any act of crimes during his terms as a politician. Another one De Guzman did
not come from a political family. Second is he said that before he became a politician, he
was a worker and a public servant. The information that De Guzman said was fair on the
politicians who were a public servant before they serve the countrymen. It is also fair to
give other politicians a chance to do their said platform for the country. Us Filipinos
needs a change in the system and in the government. So it’s really nice to vote for other
candidates that is really qualified.

3. What type of text is used to deliver the message? What are the advantages and limitations of
the text format?

The text used to deliver the message was quoting the details of De Guzman’s speech.
The team highlighted the most important part of the speech and the part where the
viewers can be moved by his speech. As per the limitations, I hope they also release a
full statement of De Guzman’s speech so that other people who didn’t watch the debate
will know more about his platforms and future plans.

4. Who controls the transmission of this message?

The one who controls the message is us, the audiences. We should be responsible and
understanding as a viewer because our insights about De Guzman’s speech or the other
candidate’s is important. The candidate’s speeches can most likely to influence our
political stance as a concern citizen.
