Answers (brief): 1. some instruments are playing the same note (bar27), tensions are close together
2. major blues scale, same harmonic rhythm as in the beginning. The motive grows
out of the melody (especially the second part of the motif (bar 2 beat 3 to the end of bar 3)
(similar shape, chord is arpeggiated,
3. The trombones are also in close voicing and complement the trumpet voicings. This might work
because both of the instruments are brass instruments and are muted in this context.
