Statement #1

Evelyn is 55 years old, 5'1" in height and weighing 150 Ibs. She believes that
adipose tissue dies as a person diets, and new cells are formed as weight is
gained.

Disagree because although new fat cells are swiftly produced, dieting cannot get
rid of them. Many diets have failed because of the fact that once fat cells grow, they do
not go away even if they do decrease during weight loss.

Statement #2

Ronnie is a thin young man who has more brown fat than Ken who is an
overweight young man.

In comparison to someone who is not overweight, an overweight individual has


proportionally less brown fat. People may remain slim and that is in large part due to
brown fat.
