* A negative RT-PCR doesn’t exclude the possibility of COVID-19 especially if taken relatively early in the disease course or in case of
mutations within the viral genome covered by the kit’s primers and/or probes. It is recommended to follow-up with a medical health-care
provider, to continue to adhere to safety and isolation precautions, and eventually repeat testing in case of high disease suspicion. False
negative results may be due to incorrect sampling, transportation, or low viral load.

* According to WHO, careful interpretation of weak positive PCR results is needed, as the assays may produce false signals at high Ct
values. When test results are questionable, the patient should be resampled and retested (WHO interim guidance 11 sep 2020).
