Rules of the Team Internet Mathematical Olympiad:

Blitz and Championship

DECEMBER 21 2021

In the competitions, teams of students can take part, not more than 4 in a team. If 3 or 2 or even
one student want to participate as a team, they can participate in the competitions.

The Olympiad will be held simultaneously in two formats:

1. The Blitz Olympiad – the winner of which will be determined on December 21, almost as
soon as the competition is over.
2. The Championship – the winner of which will be determined during 3 weeks, after an
inspection of full solutions submitted to each problem.

Foreign students have to be in ZOOM all the time of competitions from 14:00 (Israeli time).
Ariel students have to be in Campus in the room which number could be seen on the site of
Olympiad https://www.ariel.ac.il/wp/i-olymp/ .
To the participants will be given several problems consecutively. The teams will get 20 minutes
to solve each two of the problems 1-8 and an hour to solve problems 9-10 and write down the
full solutions of all the problems after the end of Blitz Olympiad in the frame of Championship.
During the time allotted to each stage, students have to submit their answers. The problems 1-8
are parts of both Blitz Olympiad and Championship, and are intended for all participants of both
of these competitions. Problems 9-10 will be only in the frame of Championship.

At 17:30 students submit their full solutions via their Moodle personal page or (if the team is not
registered) via e-mail. Solutions can be submitted in the following formats: *.doc, *.docx, *.jpg,
*.pdf.

The participants have about 2 hours to solve problems 1-8 for Blitz and to submit the final
answers through the system by 17:30, and then hour to other problems, to write down the full
solutions of ALL the problems 1-10 and to submit them through the system (or via e-mail in
case of difficulties in submission) by 17:30.

Thus, during the time allotted to each stage, students have to submit their answers only (in Blitz)
and full solutions (in Championship) respectively.
Solutions can be submitted in the following formats: *.doc, *.docx, *.jpg, *.pdf.

In Blitz Olympiad our criteria are the following: correctness of answers, rates of the problems,
time of submission. In Championship our criteria are the following: correctness of solutions
including all explanations, rates of problems.
Rate of a problem is defined according to number of teams submitting the right solution to the
problem. For example, we suppose that every problem can give 1000 points, if 500 teams submit
the right solution, then every one gets 2 points. If 4 teams submit the right solution, every one of
them gets 250 points.
