Learning Activity # 1: Global Experience and Perspectives.

1. Create your own definition of Globalization.

Answer: Globalization refers to the spread of the flow of financial products, goods, technology,
information, and jobs across national borders and cultures. It refers to the opening of local and
nationalistic perspectives to a broader outlook of an interconnected and inter-dependent world
with the free flow of capital, goods, and services across national frontiers. It also refers to the
interconnectedness of the world and its people

2. Narrate your personal experience/ s of globalization and share your

perspective /s about the world.

Answer:

All these products in my front are a result of process of globalization. Including my HP laptop
that was also assembled in China and designed by USA, and this laptop runs by
“Windows 7”operating system – which is a product of famous US software company
“Microsoft”, also my JBL headphones that was manufactured from Mexico. Also these products I
have in my hands, the KFC and Pizza Hut are two US based restaurant chain that become
popular in our country. I also received a package from my Tito in U.S.A and the package was
full of imported chocolates, Nike shoes, and Giordano shirts.

3. Make an inventory of the things that personally belong to you. Organize your
inventory into two categories: 1) made in the Philippines, 2) imported/ made
abroad, and list countries of origin.
