this inverter. Read this document carefully to understand the meaning of the markings and symbols that are
used.
■ Explanation of markings
Marking Meaning of marking
Indicates that improper use or handling will result in death or serious
DANGER injury.
(*1): “injury to persons” refer to injuries, burns, electric shocks and other injuries that will not require hospitalization
or long periods of medical treatment.
(*2): “damage to property” refers to a wide-range of damage to assets and materials.
■ Meaning of symbols
AC voltage / current

2. Safety Precautions
2.1. Installation environment
DANGER
■ Do not install the inverter where flammable or explosive gases are present
There is a risk of explosion and/or fire due to sparks that could be generated from
circuit breakers or contactors.
Forbidden
■ Provide enough space(※) for operation and maintenance when installing the
inverter
Sufficient clearance is required for maintenance space. It also assures sufficient air
flow, and could cause damage or fire due to over temperature if the clearance
space is reduced. Mandatory
※Refer to “Installation clearance” in section 5.2 for details.
CAUTION
■ Do not install the inverter in locations that are exposed to extreme
temperature/humidity variations
CAUTION
■ Do not install the inverter in places that are exposed to air containing salts,
corrosive gases (※) and/or vapor containing water or oil
It may cause insulation failure, contact failure in circuit breakers and switches,
performance degradation and/or equipment failure. Forbidden
■ Do not install the inverter in altitudes over 4000m. Over 2000m : derating
The withstand voltage is reduced at high altitudes and could lead to performance
degradation and/or equipment failure.
Forbidden
This inverter does not measure the residual current. Refer to section 5.3 for further
details.
Forbidden
■ Only Type B residual current detection (RCD) or monitoring (RCM) devices are allowed
This inverter can cause a dc current in the external protective earthing conductor.
Were a residual current detection (RCD) or monitoring (RCM) device is used for
protection in a case of direct or indirect contact, only an RCD or RCM of Type B
is allowed on the supply side of the inverter.

5. Installation Environment
■ Do not install the inverter where flammable or explosive gases are present
There is a risk of explosion and/or fire due to sparks that could be generated from
the circuit breakers or contactors
DANGER
■ Do not install the inverter in locations that are exposed to extreme
temperature/humidity variations
Extreme operating conditions and condensation may cause performance
degradation and/or equipment failure.
Do not install the inverter in an environment outside of the following requirements.
The installation of a ventilation or air conditioning system will be required if the
recommended environmental conditions cannot be met.
Environmental Conditions:
■ Do not install the inverter in altitudes over 4000m. Over 2000m : derating
The withstand voltage is reduced at high altitudes and could lead to performance
degradation and/or equipment failure.
Inverter and related equipment should be installed according to the installation environment standard
detailed in Table 5.1
Not adhering to this standard may result in degradation of insulation and other effects leading to
reduction in lifetime and/or equipment failure.
It is recommended to measure and evaluate environmental conditions at the installation location prior
to inverter installation. In case there are parameters that do not comply with the specifications,
corrective measures should be taken prior to inverter installation.
!
■ When cleaning the area where the inverter is installed, use an electrical vacuum cleaner to
prevent rubbish and dust from getting into the air.
■ Do not use silicon type wax on the floor or other places adjacent to the inverter.

7. Inverter Transportation
The package frame provides good protection for the inverter during transportation. However, observe
the following precautions
(1) Do not apply an impact or shock to the package of over 1.5G.
(2) Do not expose the package to salt water or rain.
8. Storage
9. Unpacking
Complete package
(Reinforced cardboard)
(1) Outer vacuum wrapping encloses the entire inverter. Remove the wrapping in order to locate the
fork pockets for lifting.
(2) Bubble wrap is used to protect displays, and other instruments located on the cabinet surface, and
to protect paint when necessary.
(3) The inverter’s intake openings are protected with a plastic sheet secured with plastic tape to prevent
dust from entering the cabinet.
(4) Whenever a wooden packing material is in contact with a painted surface, a felt is located in
between to protect the surface from scratches.
Unpack in a paved floor indoor. If possible, unpack close to the location of installation.
Secure sufficient space for forklift or pallet-jack.
(1) Remove the outer vacuum wrapping of the inverter for transportation. Keep the inverter in storage
conditions specified in section 8 until all packing material is removed, and protective cover and
roofs are installed.
(2) Before opening and dismantling the package, carefully observe the entire package structure and
the internal parts. Then proceed carefully not to scratch or damage the inverter.
(3) The packing list number may be destroyed when opening the package, thus confirm the correct
packing list number before opening the package, and retain it for future reference.
(4) Prepare all the necessary tools and list up the sequence to be followed before unpacking.
(5) Do not apply direct mechanical shock or vibrations to the inverter with hammers or other tools
when opening the package
(6) Do not remove the information attached to the inverter until installation is complete.
(7) Be cautious when opening the package since it contains small parts that may be lost or
accidentally disposed of.
(8) In you notice any abnormality, damage or lack/excess of components, contact us with the
packing list number, inverter serial number, quantity and all the necessary information as soon as
possible.
Remove the roof and install the spreader bar for lifting.
DANGER The roof is not designed to withstand the weight of the inverter. There
is a risk of injury and/or damage to the inverter
The center of gravity is in the middle of the cabinet as indicated with labels attached to the cabinet.
Space for the fork is provided in the fork pockets in the base of the inverter. Insert the forks into the
pockets as shown in Fig. 9.2. Make sure that the forklift’s maximum load is large enough to carry an
inverter.
Do not attempt to lift the inverter without using the fork pockets when using a fork lift.
Center of Center of
gravity gravity
Fig. 9.2 Location of the fork pockets and the center of gravity
(1) Tolerance for distances measured from the reference line to the upper part of the cabinet base
is +0.5mm. The upper part of the cabinet base cannot be below the surface (reference line) in
cases where the cabinet base is embedded.
(2) Mark the location of the fixation holes according to the location given in the layout diagram (Fig.
10.1) and verify with a theodolite or a transit that the elevation of each point is equal with a
tolerance of 1mm.
(3) The inverter must be set on a flat surface. Use extra caution on the angle in the direction
between the front and back side of the inverter cabinet. A slight tilt could have detrimental
effects on the inverter operation and lifetime. Refer to the tolerance illustrated Fig. 10.2.
(4) Install the inverter onto the skid with proper dimensions and leveled surface.

Punch the holes in the bottom plate for DC cable entries straight down from the connecting point at the terminal
so that the cables can be installed as straight as possible. If a pair of P and N cables enter from one place
together and connected to each terminal separately, the bent cables will apply stresses to the terminal plates
and may results in damages to the components. After the cables are installed, cover the gap in the entry hole
with flame-resistant putty, etc.
※ If there are any small openings between the bottom plate and enclosure, fill them too with putty, etc.
If there are openings, dust, moisture, small animals, etc. may enter from there.

Note 1: Select the proper cable following applicable NEC/NFPA70 and local requirements
Note 2: 3 phase output cables between PV inverter and step-up transformer shall be limited up to
20m, they shall be also bundled together.
Be careful not to damage other components inside the unit when laying cables.
※ In particular, note that the items shown in the illustrations below are reported to be damaged sometimes due
to contact with cable lugs or other tools during connecting external cables.
