You become a scarecrow for a day. Draw yourself as a scarecrow and tell the
class what you see around you. You may write your thoughts in your notebook.

V Poetic Device
Personification
The attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something
non-human, or the representation of an abstract quality in human form.
The poet personifies the  scarecrow and tells us how he can see and observe
everything going around him.

a) What does the scarecrow do in the morning?
Answer: In the morning, the scarecrow spies on the monkeys and the
porcupine.

b) What does the scarecrow see?


Answer: The scarecrow sees everything around him except his own shadow.

c) What are the questions that bother him?


Answer: The scarecrow does not know how seasons come and go, which
season will come next and where seasons come from. These questions
bother him.

d) What does he know about the seasons?


Answer: The scarecrow knows that winter is freezing and summer is hot.
