A study done by some researchers in December 2020, on the topic the
impact of Covid-19 Lockdown on the food priorities to describe the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the people’s interests, their behavior, and their opinions towards food. The research was conducted by floating online questionnaire form in the online mode and the sample size was of 362. The research found out that the people initially searched on YouTube and Google about what covid-19 is and how the disease spreads, when the officials announced about the outbreak of the pandemic, the searches of food and online shopping started being trending on YouTube and Google. When the questionnaire responses were finally received, it was found that there is a reduction in shopping frequency but the location of shopping hasn’t changed and pasta and vegetables are the products with higher frequency of buying followed by nuts, cheese and chocolates. Items like fish, sea foods, sugary bakery items or desserts had reduced may be because they are unhealthy and people don’t want to take risk of being unhealthy during such a pandemic time. The main objective of this research work is to investigate or find out the impact of Covid-19 on the restaurants and street foods vendors of Pakistan. The research is conducted by over conference calls and almost 30 responds were recorded and it was found that the major problems of these business is the massive fall in sales and the layoffs because of the closed business and no relief from the govt. Also, the major changes that need to be taken care of is proper sanitization, changes in sitting area, proper cleaning and maintaining hygiene, change in menu and develop some innovative ideas so that the customers can be back. The main objective of the study is to find out how the economy of the street food vendors has got affected due to the pandemic, the researchers had interviewed the street vendors and the formal employees. Their research study found out that the street vendors are the most vulnerable to these pandemics and are a significant loss to economy due to contingent measures. The street vendors cannot stay at home because government has not taken any measure for their survival and so they have to come out and sometimes become the measure of spreading the Covid-19 virus.
