I will talk about the best ways to manage your resources. This guide covers the
basics for beginners and more advanced tips for players who have at least several
hours up to their sleeves.
Conserve Your Resource Items

As a rule of thumb, you should save your resource items until you need to use them
to upgrade your buildings or to train troops and research technologies. Then,
spending your resource tokens and chest should be used in case of emergency.
Experienced Rise of Kingdoms players has their inventory tab chock full of
resources. If you ever get zeroed during your first and second KVK seasons. These
resources will help you get back into the battle quickly.

It brings me to the point that you always should buy resource items in the Courier
Shop. Buy the resource tokens and boosters at discounted prices.

Max Out Your Gathering Speed

Another way to improve your resource management is to maximize your gathering

speed. For starters, I recommend leveling up these gathering commanders to get a
head start bringing the resources on the map to your city:

Joan of Arc

Gaius Marius

Sarka

Constance

Seondeok

Cleopatra

You also can speed up your commanders’ gathering rate using items like Enhanced
Gathering, which the governors can buy from the Courier Shop and Quests. Runes also
improve your gathering speed, founded around Holy Sites.

While I highly recommend speeding up your VIP status to level 6, it’s optional to
further invest in your VIP level because at Level 11, and you will get a 20%
gathering speed bonus, which is a massive help in managing your resources.
In addition to that, you will be able to access the VIP shop and purchase valuable
items. So it is a win-win situation for free-to-play players.
Farm Barbarians & Forts

Did you know that you actually can get resources from barbarians and forts too? If
you have peacekeeping commanders like Belisarius, Aethelflaed, or Boudica, I highly
recommend putting three talent points into Trophy Hunter, which gives you 15
resource packs for every victory battle.
One of the best ways to do this is chain-farming barbarians which can be done using
commanders with AoE active skills like Aethelflaed and stack with an infantry-only
army as they are slower and tanky enough to group them.
The only time you should be attacking Barbarian Forts is when you want to get more
Book of Covenants or to earn rewards for defeating the Barbarian Fortresses.
Alternatively, you can do the Lohar’s Trial, which will give you a massive amount
of resource packs for each bone necklace.
Make sure you save your action points so you can spend them on events that involve
killing barbarians for even greater resource rewards. Always utilize whenever
action points you have available and let them replenish over time.

Complete Your Daily Objectives

The daily quests are a big part of the game, and they always give out resource
tokens/chests, including a golden key at the end of the goal. If you are not doing
your daily objectives, you miss out on the opportunity to reap the rewards.
Therefore, make sure you are doing your daily objectives like:

Opening your VIP Daily Chest.

Opening your Daily Special Offer Chest

Do all the Daily Quests

Do all the Event Quests

Win all Arena Battles (i.e Sunset Canyon)

Do your Expedition Mode

Remember to do it every day. It is the easiest way to collect a lot of resources in

a brief timeframe. But, as I said before, don’t miss this out!

Create a Mini Farming Account

One of the most powerful methods to farm and manage enormous resources is to launch
a few mini farming accounts.
As a free-to-play player, you will need at least one or two mini farming accounts
to generate additional resources. So that way, you can transfer resources from
these farming accounts to your main account to accelerate your game progression.
These mini farming accounts are like your ATM, and you can access them anytime you
want to. As you advance to the late game, the resource cost to level up buildings,
upgrade commanders, train troops, and research technology will become expensive.

Even if you are already doing all of these resource management tips above, you will
still barely meet ends. Therefore, a mini farming account is profitable and gives
you a significant advantage over other players that don’t utilize this resource
management trick.
