 INTRODUCTION
The original idea for this supplement
came to me way back last December,
when the UCP started talking about
what to do for a holiday themed issue of
the New Marvel Phile. Thinking about
the annual Christmas-tree and ice rink
prominently displayed at Rockefeller
Center, it was suggested to do
something centered on Rockefeller
Plaza. The map in the Deluxe City Set
had this covered though, but then it hit
me - Times Square! With its iconic
digital billboards, central location in
Manhattan, and history of equal parts
glamor and grime, the Square seemed a
natural location for detailing in greater
depth. Times Square, and the
surrounding Theater District, has plenty
of potential in a Marvel Superheroes
campaign. As a meeting place, crime
scene, headquarters, or location for
random encounters between
adventures, this supplement aims to
serve as an inspiration for your gaming
needs and to fill in some of the blanks in
mighty Marvel Manhattan.

Center of the Universe
The Crossroads of the World,
Center of the Universe, The Heart of
the World - these are just a few of the
nicknames given to Times Square, in
reference to its 24-hour hustle and
bustle and its central location in one
of the busiest cities of the world. And
its moniker of “the Center of the
Universe” may be even more
appropriate in the Marvel Universe,
where the Manhattan of Earth-616 is
visited by aliens, gods, time travelers,
interdimensional beings and would-
be world conquerors on a regular
basis. Indeed, to list all appearances
Times Square:

would be exhausting - it shows up 40th and West 53rd Streets from

Times Square is located in the

begins at the junction of Broadway
and Seventh Avenue and stretches
from West 42nd to West 47th Streets.

blocks between Sixth and Eighth

Early Years
Originally known as Long Acre
(also Longacre) Square after London’s
carriage district, Times Square
consisted of a large open space
surrounded by drab apartments. In
the first half of the 19th century, it
became one of the prized possessions
of John Jacob Astor, who made a
second fortune selling off lots to
hotels and other real estate concerns
as the city rapidly spread uptown. By
1872, the area had become the center
of New York's horse carriage industry.
By the 1880s, the neighborhood
began to change, as electricity in the
form of theater advertisements and
streetlights, transformed public space
into a safer, more inviting
environment. Likewise, the
construction of New York’s first rapid
transit system, the Interborough
Rapid Transit Company (IRT), gave
New Yorkers unprecedented mobility
in the city. [Check out the New

As more profitable commerce
and industrialization of Lower
Manhattan pushed homes, theaters,
and prostitution northward from the Longacre Square was renamed with the iconic lowering of a
Tenderloin District, Longacre Square ‘Times Square’ in 1904 after the New Waterford crystal ball.

Mid-Century Culture
Change
When the stock market crashed in
1929, the cultured spirit of Times
Square became gritty, as shows
turned cut-rate and strange
performances were free of charge. By
1937, five burlesque clubs popped up
in Times Square; as WWII
approached, the sex industry boomed
– American soldiers were preparing
for war and were willing to pay for
anything before their probable death.
By the 1940s, the sex industry
completely dominated Times Square,
and the area remained seedy for quite
some time.
Nevertheless, Times Square
continued to be the site of the annual
ball drop on New Year's Eve. On
November 14th, 1940, young Steve
Rogers went to a movie theater in
Times Square where he saw newsreel
footage of the atrocities taking place
in Nazi Germany. Enraged by what he
had seen, he dashed off to join the
U.S. Army, only to be rejected as 4F.
The ball drop was placed on hiatus for
New Year's Eve in 1942 and 1943 due
to lighting restrictions during World
War II. Instead, a moment of silence
was observed at midnight in Times
Square, accompanied by the sound of
chimes played from sound trucks. On
May 8, 1945, a massive crowd
celebrated Victory in Europe Day in
Times Square; and on August 15,
1945, the largest crowd in the history
of Times Square gathered to
celebrate Victory over Japan Day. The
victory itself was announced by a
headline on the "zipper" news ticker
at One Times Square. After the war
ended, the heroic team known as The
All-Winners Squad began using Times
Square as their headquarters, until
mid-1948 when they moved into the
Baxter Building.
From the 1960s to the early 1990s
however, the seediness of the area
with its go-go bars, sex shops, peep
shows, and adult theaters, became an
infamous symbol of the city's decline.
In the 1970s and 1980s, every movie
theatre located on 42nd Street
between 7th and 8th Avenue was X-
rated, and prostitutes, pimps, drug
dealers, and criminals were out on
the streets, causing fights, shootings,
and stabbings. It was around this time
in the Marvel Universe that battles
among superbeings became
ubiquitous in Manhattan once more,
after having subsided in the decline of
the Golden Age. Street-level heroes
such as Luke Cage established
themselves in the vicinity to combat
the ever-present crime and vice.
Around this time, after
participating in an adventure in
Asgard, Odin sent the Hulk back to
Earth where he arrived in Times

Square. Though he wanted nothing
more than to be left alone, the Hulk
ultimately found himself in combat
against military forces. This was not
the first of such encounters for the
green behemoth, and it would
certainly not be the last time that
visitors to Times Square would
witness wanton displays of violence
by the Hulk.
During a New Year's celebration,
the futuristic warrior woman Thundra
came to this era to publicly challenge
the Thing to a trial by combat. To
guarantee the Thing's cooperation,
she kidnapped his girlfriend Alicia
Masters.
Disneyfication
In the 1990s, after decades as a
hotbed of true urban grit, the city
decided to step in and planned the
construction of skyscraper office
buildings, which were ultimately
thwarted by protesters. Mayor Rudy
Giuliani decided to clamp down on
the sex-shops instead. Peepshows
could no longer operate within 500
yards of each other, allowing
companies such as Disney to take
over. As pornographic theaters were
evicted, Times Square became a
tourist destination with attractions
such as restaurants, hotels, retail, and
multiple multiplex movie theaters. It
also attracted several large financial,
publishing, and media firms to set up
headquarters in the area. A larger
presence of police improved the
safety of the area.
In 2009, traffic lanes along
Broadway from 42nd Street to 47th
Street were transformed into
pedestrian plazas as a trial until at
least the end of the year. The goal was
to ease traffic congestion throughout
the midtown grid. The results were to
be closely monitored to determine if
the project was successful and should
be extended. Although the plaza had
mixed results on traffic in the area,
injuries to motorists and pedestrians
decreased, fewer pedestrians were
walking in the road, and the number
of pedestrians in Times Square
increased. The city started rebuilding
the plaza in 2010 to permanently
replace Broadway's roadway with
custom-made granite pavers and
benches. The entire project was
finally completed just before New
Year's Eve 2016. Safety bollards were
installed as part of the renovation to
prevent vehicular attacks or collisions
on the sidewalk. (EX strength barriers,

Modern Era
Despite the reduced crime rate,
the 2010s and early 2020s have been
marred by a few major real-world
incidents of small-scale terrorism (car
bombs, etc.) and homicides, plus
several attempts and plots which
were foiled before any harm was
done.
In recent years, Times Square was
the site of a major battle between the
New Avengers and a rogue
Hulkbuster Iron Man Armor. The real
Iron Man, Tony Stark, temporarily
killed himself in order to shut down
the armor's systems.
Soon after, a great Stone Ship
piloted by the formerly exiled hero
the Hulk appeared in the sky over
Times Square. The Hulk, bent on
revenge against those whom he
blamed for the death of his wife and
child, warned everyone to evacuate
the city or else they would suffer his
anger. Several heroes, including Iron
Man, arrived in Times Square in the
hopes of preventing an event that
would come to be known as "World
War Hulk".
More recently, Times Square was
the scene of a battle between the
Thunderbolts and Spider-Man (Peter
Parker). The Thunderbolts sought to
sanction Spider-Man for illegally
violating the Superhuman
Registration Act. Their fight was
interrupted by the sudden
appearance of the time-displaced
World War II heroes, the Invaders.

At this same time, Times Square
was also attacked by a massive
contingent of Super-Skrull invaders.
Nearly every registered member of
the Initiative fought valiantly to repel
the invaders but suffered great losses
in the ensuing carnage.
After arriving in the Heroic Age,
Qweeg found himself in Times
Square. Awestruck, he stepped in
front of a bus. After regaining
consciousness, he shot the
responding NYPD officers, as Captain
America and Spider-Man (Miguel
O'Hara) rushed to the scene. A
skirmish ensued, and they eventually
defeated the cyborg only to be
thwarted by the sudden arrival of Aisa
and the forces of Fist, who distracted
the heroes long enough to escape and
recruit Qweeg into their terrorist
organization.
The onset of the COVID-19
pandemic in New York City during
2020 reduced the number of people
traveling to Times Square. About
108,000 pedestrians visited Times
Square each day in late 2020
compared to the 380,000 before the
pandemic. From March to October
2020, 26 of the area's 46 hotels
closed, as well as 39 of 151 stores and
84 of 162 restaurants. New York
police have reported that shootings,
assaults and robberies spiked since
the pandemic, fueled in part by
emboldened street hustlers who
seemed to take over while tourists
were away. The NYPD has responded
by increasing police presence to
about 75 officers in Times Square at
all times, but many remain unnerved
by the prospect of a return to the
gritty, crime-ridden era of the 1970s.
Fortunately, the Marvel Universe has
many heroes who can help.
Theater District
Times Square is located in the Theater
District (sometimes spelled Theatre
District), which is a part of Midtown
Manhattan where most Broadway
theaters are located, as well as many
other theaters, movie theaters,
restaurants, hotels, and other places
of entertainment. It is bounded by
West 40th Street on the south, West Believe It or Not! Odditorium, and
54th Street on the north, Sixth Madame Tussauds New York.
Avenue on the east and Eighth
Avenue on the west, and includes
Times Square. The “Great White Note: The Block numbers refer to the

It also contains recording studios,
record label offices, theatrical
agencies, television studios,
restaurants, Duffy Square, Shubert
Alley, the Brill Building, a Ripley's

Points of Interest
This block is bounded by Eighth and
Seventh Avenues on the western and
eastern sides, respectively, and by
West 41st and West 42nd Streets to
the south and north.
Highlights:
● The block’s Seventh Avenue
facade is dominated by Five Times
Square, a 40-story skyscraper that
is the U.S. headquarters for global
financial services firm Ernst &
Young with retail storefronts on
the ground level.
● The historic New Amsterdam
Theater was home to the Ziegfield
Follies theatrical productions from
1913 to 1927. Today the Beaux-
Arts building is home to offices and
is the flagship location for Disney
Theatrical Productions.
● The Candler Building was built
between 1912 and 1914 by Coca-
Cola owner and magnate Asa
Griggs Candler of Atlanta. It
consists of a five-bay, 24-story
section fronting on 42nd Street
and a three-bay, 17-story section
fronting on 41st Street.
● This block also holds the New York
branch of Madame Tussauds wax
museum and the Ripley's Believe It
or Not! Odditorium.

Block 2:
Points of Interest
Bounded by Eighth and Seventh

and West 43rd Streets to the south
and north.
Highlights:
● This block is dominated by Three
Times Square, a 32-story
skyscraper on 7th Avenue
between 42nd Street and 43rd
Street that serves as the
headquarters of Thomson Reuters.
The building is also home to the
New York City offices for BMO
Capital Markets, Bain & Company,
and FTI Consulting. Large street
level retailers include Quiksilver,
AT&T, Metrobank, Skechers, and
Cafe Europa. Like most structures
in Times Square, the building has
numerous large electronic
advertising displays across
multiple facades.
● Several classic historic theaters
can be found on this block: the
American Airlines Theater
(formerly the Selwyn, built 1918);
the Lyric Theatre (previously
known as the Foxwoods Theatre,
the Hilton Theatre and the Ford
Center for the Performing Arts; the
theater sits on the site of the
former Apollo Theater, and its
namesake Lyric Theater built in
1903); and the Times Square
Theater (built 1920, now being
redeveloped as a commercial
space). The Regal Cinema complex
includes the AMC 25 movie
theater, renovated from the
Empire (or Eltinge) Theater, built in
1912.
● The Hotel Carter has a reputation
as a relic of Times Square’s seedier
days; it gained a negative
reputation due to crimes that took
place there, as well as its general
uncleanliness. At least nine deaths
have occurred in the hotel,
including four suicides and four
murders. In addition, the Hotel
Carter had previously been cited as
being among America's dirtiest
hotels, both by the media and via
visitor reviews. It has undergone
renovations in recent years in an
attempt to rehabilitate its image.
Green Bank
This is a smaller, first-floor bank,
overshadowed by the much larger
Metrobank complex in the same
building. The Porcupine was caught

by Spider-Woman while he was
robbing this bank.
Metrobank
Metrobank is one of New York City's
largest banks, it is owned by the
Brand Corporation, which in turn is a
subsidiary of Roxxon. It served as
headquarters for the Roxxon Oil
Corporation's Nth Command. In our
universe (Earth-1218) the bank is a
substitute of Chase Bank.
Nth Command
The Nth Command employs
Commandos for exploration and
military operations, and Scavenger
Units for search and retrieval
operations. The Nth Command also
employs superhuman operatives;
only standard unit profiles are
included here.

Nth Command Equipment:
Nth Projectors: The Nth Projector was
a device capable of transporting
materials into other dimensions. Nth
Projectors came in various sizes and
strengths, depending on how much
material is to be transported.
● Nth Adapters were the largest
known Nth Projectors. They served
as a permanent conduit to
transport oil from one dimension
to another, and had an internal
diameter of about six feet. Quasar
theorized that Nth Adapters were
fitted with failsafe devices, to
prevent accidents resulting from
transporting unexpected
quantities of material. Capable of
teleporting IN volume.
● Portable Nth Projectors were
approximately three foot long, and
Scavenger Units heavy enough that they were
generally transported on a

● The Nth Projectors wielded by the
Nth Commandos were lighter and
smaller but required the existence

is unknown what the range of a
Nth Emanator was, but it was at
least the distance from New York
City to the X-Men's Mansion in
Westchester in upstate New York.
When the Nth Emanator was

Lightner's malicious intent was
discovered by Project: PEGASUS staff,
but too late. However, before
Lightner carried through with the Nth
Command's plan to use the Nth
Projector to place Project: PEGASUS
into another dimension, he decided
to use the Projector for his own
purposes, to restore the powers he
once had as Blacksun.
Lightner, now transformed into the
Nth Man, was defeated at Project:
PEGASUS by the combined efforts of
the Thing, Quasar, Giant-Man,
Thundra, and the Aquarian. It was
revealed that Roxxon was the
corporation behind the Nth
Command, and that this was only one
of many Nth Projectors. Lightner's
Nth Projector was initially thought
destroyed, but later found and
confiscated by Project: PEGASUS.
Hyperion (Squadron Sinister) was
rescued from imprisonment by the
Nth Command and then employed by
them to retrieve Thundra. He was
promised that if he did so the Nth
Command could return Hyperion to
his own home world, which he had
previously believed was destroyed.
Hyperion brought Thundra to meet
with the Nth Command. They showed
her a portable Nth Projector, and
offered to use it to return her to the
home-world she had thought to be
destroyed. After seeing how the
device was operated, Thundra stole it
and fled. Upon learning that it had a
self-destruct device which had been
activated, she used it on herself,
returning herself to her home-world
(and Hyperion, who attempted to
follow, to the interdimensional void),
but not before telling the Thing the
approximate location, though not the
name, of the Nth Command's
headquarters.
Following on Thundra's information,
the Thing and Quasar found the Nth
Command's headquarters and
attacked but were zapped by an Nth
Projector and sent to a prehistoric
world. This prehistoric world was
serving as an oil production center for
the Nth Command - they had set up a
huge processing facility and were
transporting the oil back to Earth.
With the aid of the local natives,
Quasar and the Thing destroyed the
facility, and then returned to New
York via the Nth Adapters, flooding
the Nth Command in unprocessed oil
in the process.
Nth Command scientists combined
the remaining organic portions of
Deathlok with a rebuilt Deathlok
robot. With the aid of Captain
America and a time-traveling clone of
himself, Deathlok regained self-
awareness and escaped from where
the Nth Command was holding him at
an abandoned Brand Corporation
factory.

Later, the Nth Command headed
again by Albert DeVoor, had outfitted
a large number of operatives with Nth
Projectors. These Nth Commandos
were ordered to use their Nth
Projectors to simultaneously attack
and remove all of New York's
superheroes to other, very fatal,
dimensions. This was referred to as
Operation Purge. The attack was
foiled when Captain America learned
of the existence of the plan from
Godwulf, a person from Deathlok's
alternate future, in which the attack
had succeeded and in which Godwulf
had been one of the Nth Commandos.
Using information from Godwulf,
Captain America gained access to the
Nth Command's headquarters, and
destroyed the core of the Nth
Emanator which powered all the Nth
Projectors. The Nth Commandos
carried through the attacks, but with

top of the pyramidal architectural
feature, with the hours denoted
by five-pointed stars (forming a
circle of stars as used in the
Paramount Pictures logo) topped
by an ornamental glass globe. The
building includes a number of
restaurants and retail spaces on
the street level, including the
Hard Rock Cafe.
● 229 West 43rd Street, formerly
known as The New York Times
Building, is an 18-story office
building, located on this block.
Built in 1913, it was the
headquarters of The New York
Times newspaper until 2007.
Other tenants include Bowlmor
Lanes, Guitar Center's Times
Square flagship, and several
restaurants. The building also
houses a couple of tourist
attractions of note: the ocean-
themed National Geographic
Encounter; and Gulliver’s Gate, a
display of scale models of New
York and international landmarks.

considered the geographical
center of Broadway theatre.
Sims Tower
Sims Tower is a 27-story skyscraper
unique to the Marvel Universe. After
one of his encounters with Morlun,
Ezekiel Sims created Sims Tower to
protect future generations of Spider-
Totems. The buildings’ bunkers
contain years’ worth of food, VCR
tapes of the totem known as Spider-
Man, protection from radiation, and
blockage from Web of Life and
Destiny connections. The code to
access is 616001, a reference to the
universe designation for the mainline

History:
Ezekiel apparently underwent some
form of ritual which granted him the
powers of a Spider-Totem. Upon
being granted these powers, similar
to Spider-Man's powers, he set about
amassing a fortune. He soon learnt
that, being totemic in nature, he
would be beset by those of orders
higher up the totemic hierarchy.
One of these beings, Morlun, would
become something of a nemesis to
him, and Ezekiel began to take steps
to gather all the information he could
on Morlun to protect the future
generations of Spider-Totems, paying
for bunkers to be constructed which
would block out anyone who could
find those with ties to the totem-
order. Ezekiel also became a member
of the Spider Society, helping found
WebCorps to serve as a front.
When Peter Parker and Cindy Moon
were bitten by a spider that had been
irradiated by a particle accelerator
used in a demonstration of the safe
handling of nuclear laboratory waste
materials, sponsored by the General
Techtronics Corporation, Ezekiel
contacted Cindy and trained her in
the use of her powers until he realized
that Morlun was tracking her. He then
locked her away in one of his special
rooms at the bottom of his tower to
protect her from the Devourer of
Totems.

When Shatra achieved her goal of
pushing Spider-Man to act on instinct,
bringing their conflict to the simple
level of “natural order” in which the
Spider-Wasp is the hunter and the

to brief safety. He was helped by
Ezekiel, who took Spider-Man to a
sacred temple in Ghana and helped
Peter to set a trap for Shathra. Spider-

whatever spider dwelt in the depths
of the temple. Ezekiel also warned
Peter that Morlun and Shathra are
not the only ones hunting him, and
another more powerful foe was

Later, Ezekiel warned Peter of the
coming of the Gatekeeper, who
controlled mystical forces. Ezekiel
said that the Gatekeeper saw him as monster appeared to kill Peter as
unworthy to possess his powers, since Ezekiel walked away. In panic, Peter
he received them by accident,and used his Spider-Sense to bond with

had told him, and the Gatekeeper
reveals that Ezekiel was unworthy of
his powers because he "stole" them.
Spider-Man awakened battered and
bloodied, and Ezekiel explained that
because the Gatekeeper will only
allow one of them to live, he has to kill
Peter. Peter realized that the
supernatural menaces he had
recently fought were after Ezekiel.
They fought, but Ezekiel defeated him
by drugging him with a syringe.
Ezekiel chained him to a column in a
temple and stabbed him with a knife
to have his blood flow into the spider

The southern triangle of Times Square
has no specific name. It is the other
main intersection of Times Square
and therefore one of the busiest
pedestrian plazas of the city, and
notable for its proximity to the New
Year’s Eve ball drop and countdown.
Highlights of the area include:
● NYPD: This is the headquarters for
the Midtown South Precinct,
which serves the southern portion
of Midtown Manhattan, including
Times Square, Grand Central
Terminal, Penn Station, Madison
Square Garden, Koreatown, and
the Manhattan Mall Plaza.
Approximately eighty uniformed
officers, some on horseback,
patrol Times Square regularly. The
precinct substation was renovated
in 2018 and fitted with bulletproof

Times Square Building
One Times Square, also known as
1475 Broadway, the New York Times
Building, the New York Times Tower,
or simply as the Times Tower, is a 25-
story, 363-foot-high skyscraper
located at 42nd Street and Broadway
in New York City. In 1995, One Times
Square was repurposed with
advertising billboards on its facade to
take advantage of its prime location
within the square. Due to the large
amount of revenue generated by its
signage, One Times Square is
considered one of the most valuable
advertising locations in the world.

The tower was originally built to serve
as the headquarters of The New York
Times, which officially moved into the
tower in January 1904. Even after the
Times left in 1913, One Times Square
remained a major focal point of Times
Square due to its annual New Year's
Eve "ball drop" festivities, and the

street-level in 1928, colloquially
known as the "zipper."
In 1946, the heroic team known as
The All-Winners Squad began using
the top floor of the tower as their
headquarters. The team continued to
use the tower as their headquarters
until mid-1948, when they moved
into the Baxter Building.
From 1990 to 1996, Sony operated a
Jumbotron on the exterior of the
tower. Alongside its use for
advertising and news, it was also
frequently used by the producers of
the late-night talk show Late Show

display a live feed from its studio on
the screen as well. The original
Jumbotron has since been replaced
by a similar display.
Most of the building's interior
currently remains vacant, aside from
a Walgreens pharmacy which

Father Duffy Square
Duffy Square is the northern triangle
of Times Square, located between
46th and 47th Streets, and Broadway
and Seventh Avenue. It is well known
for the TKTS reduced-price theater
tickets booth located there. The
square has two statues: a bronze
statue of Chaplain Francis P. Duffy of
New York's "Fighting 69th" Infantry
Regiment, and another statue
depicting composer-entertainer
George M. Cohan. The statue of Duffy
was dedicated in 1937, and the area
was officially renamed "Father Duffy
Square" in 1939. Situated on
Broadway Ave. adjacent to the square
there is also Nuchas, an Argentine
fast-food establishment.
Located on the pedestrian island
between West 45th and 46th Streets
is a permanent sound installation by
artist Max Neuhaus, titled Times
Square, often referred to as the Times
Square Hum or simply the hum.
Street Performers
Street performers, or buskers, are
abundant throughout New York City
and particularly in Times Square.
Street performers in the square run a
wide range of skill level from the
pathetic to the semi-professional and
can run from innocuous to aggressive
in their panhandling.
Many of the performers are simply
costumed characters requesting
gratuities for a “photo op”. This
presents a number of opportunities
for street-level encounters: a full
costume could conceal the identity of
a villain; confusing an imitator with a
real villain or hero could result in a
case of mistaken identity in which the
PCs have to intervene; or a performer
could be a mutant or otherwise
powered individual, incorporating
their powers into their act.
Since the 2000s, street performance
in Times Square has largely been
confined to the pedestrian plazas, and
performers are legally not supposed
to harass the tourists. Some listen,
some don’t.

Jacques seems to be a simple guy
from a dirt-poor place. An
incompetent doctor once made him
suffer terribly. Thus, he now distrusts

anything goes wrong with a doctor,
he’s liable to get physically violent.

History:
Adrian Loring and his partner Jasper
Brunt were the moguls of Times
Square during its heyday. They owned
most theatres in the area, including
the Gem Theater. By 1972, the Gem
was but a squalid, smelly shadow of
its former splendor, but it was cheap
enough for the Hero for Hire, Luke
Cage, to rent an office within.
Adrian Loring had a son, Armand, who
was born a dwarf. As a boy Armand,
ashamed of his small stature, fled.
Thus, it was soon forgotten by most
Loring even had a son. Adrian,
however, never gave up looking for
Armand. But the youth had already
made his way to Haiti.
There, he learned both kreyòl ayisyen
— the Haitian French Creole language
— and acrobatics. He used his size
and physical skills to become a thief.
He was eventually caught, and
thrown into the slammer. There, he
befriended a fellow convict, an
imposing Haitian powerhouse named
Jacques.
Adrian Loring eventually got his young
son (and Jacques) out of prison and
back to New York City. But by that
point, the theatre mogul was having a
falling out with his partner Jasper
Brunt. Loring correctly suspected
Brunt of embezzling.
Adrian Loring gathered evidence. He
hid these documents in the frame of a
portrait of himself that hung within
the Gem Theater. He also told his son.
But when Adrian confronted Jasper
the discussion went bad. Brunt shot
Loring. He then set fire to the theatre
they had been in, to cover his tracks.
Certain that Brunt had killed his
father, Armand dedicated his life to
ruining and then killing Brunt. Using
his and Jacques’ talents, he designed
the “Phantom of the 42nd Street”
identity. It was a seemingly
supernatural, eight-foot tall,
impossibly strong creature. Its face
was the ravaged, burned visage of
Adrian Loring.
The Phantom got to work in an
efficient manner. Soon, the theatre-
goers in Times Square steered well
clear of 42nd Street, being terrified of
the Phantom there. A placard-
bearing, deranged homeless man
claimed that the Phantom was the

result of the sins committed in Times
Square, and was the herald of
Judgement Day.
The Phantom of the 42nd Street
announced his plan to Brunt. He then
invaded the Gem Theater to find the
portrait of Adrian and the papers
within. The portrait, however, was
kept very near Cage’s bedroom. Thus,
the Phantom discovered that
overcoming the Hero for Hire was
impossible. Yet he easily fled, leaving
Cage half-convinced that the
Phantom was an actual ghost.
Jacques, who had hurt his hand
hitting Cage, had to be persuaded by
Armand to see a doctor. He was
treated at Temple’s and Bernstein’s
free clinic. The strongman threw a
brief yet destructive tantrum when
Bernstein made his bandage too tight.
Seeing Jacques’ strength and his
wound, Cage came to suspect the
truth.
The Phantom entered the Gem
Theater again, still after the portrait.
But Cage gave chase, knocking
Jacques out. Armand managed to
stagger the Hero for Hire into live
wires, leaving Cage muscle-locked
from electricity.
With Jacques out of the picture for
now, the Phantom trick was
unfeasible. As a result, Armand
decided to shoot Brunt dead ahead of
schedule.
Having realized the importance of the
portrait, Cage and his buddy DW
found the documents inside. Thus,
they learned the whole sordid story.
Cage then raced to Brunt’s place. It
was actually Loring’s life that Luke
saved, as Brunt had gotten the drop
on Armand and nearly shot him.
Luke told Armand that Adrian Loring
had willed his entire fortune to his
son. Loring briefly hesitated upon
learning that he was now a rich man,
but chose vengeance anyway. Loring
leapt on Brunt and both went through
a window, falling to their death.
Jacques was rushed to a hospital, but
presumably recovered from his
wounds.

Square. Bullseye took refuge in the
Bizbo right after his escape from
Midtown Hospital, where he was
confronted by Daredevil. Bullseye
managed to knock him down and
leave with two hostages before
police's arrival.
The Fact Channel
The Fact Channel is a news channel in
New York City. Following Mayor
Jameson's resignation, the Fact
Channel asked him to come to the
Fact Channel Studios. Thinking it was
a televised interview, he went on the
defensive and said he would not
apologize about anything he'd done
as a mayor. However, the reporter
revealed they wanted to offer him a
job as an on-air personality. Jonah
accepted, saying that "the medium of
television [had] finally justified its
existence".

Jameson's first night on the air didn't

go as planned. He was bumped from
the first segment due to a conflict of
interest, since the subject of the
report was Parker Industries. An
assault by Black Cat and Electro led to
a fight between the two villains,
Spider-Man, and Silk. Jonah insisted
that the cameras keep rolling, excited
to be broadcasting exclusive footage
of the conflict as it unfolded right in
their studio.
But Jameson's own ego soon proved
to be his undoing. The battle
culminated in Black Cat pinning
Spidey down and removing his mask,
attempting to reveal his identity to
the world. Her plan failed, though,
due to a grandstanding Jonah
accidentally blocking the shot.

Some time later, they opened an

internship spot and, within an hour,
Cindy Moon appeared to apply for the
position.

When a new biotech company named

has any affiliation with Fox News
(which is confirmed to exist
separately in the Marvel Universe).
The Fact Channel News does seem to
have a similar style of reporting, and
its building bears a resemblance to
Fox’s, so it may be a subsidiary
channel within the same building.

The Port Authority Bus Terminal
(colloquially known as Port Authority
and by its acronym PABT) is a bus
terminal serving interstate buses
traveling into Manhattan, New York
City. The terminal is the largest in the
Western Hemisphere and the busiest
in the world by volume of traffic,
serving about 8,000 buses and
225,000 people on an average
weekday and more than 65 million
people a year.
The terminal is located in Midtown at
625 Eighth Avenue between 40th
Street and 42nd Street, one block east
of the Lincoln Tunnel and one block
west of Times Square. The PABT
serves as a terminus and departure

Midtown Comics is a New York City
comic book retailer with three shops

Square area in 1997. It also used to
operate a boutique inside

The store is noted for appearances by
celebrities known outside the comic
book industry, for its friendly and
energetic staff, and for being the
most media-friendly comic store in
the United States. Midtown Comics
could be the starting location for a
Marvel Superheroes adventure with

Colbert originally studied to be a
dramatic actor, but became
interested in improvisational theater
while attending Northwestern
University. Colbert's work as a
correspondent on Comedy Central's
news-parody series The Daily Show
gained him wide recognition. In 2005,
he left The Daily Show to host The
Colbert Report. The series became
one of Comedy Central's highest-
rated series, earning Colbert an
invitation to perform as featured
entertainer at the White House
Correspondents' Association Dinner
in 2006, which he did in character.

was hired in 2015 to succeed retiring
David Letterman as host of the Late
Show on CBS. He hosted the 69th
Primetime Emmy Awards in
September 2017.
In the Marvel Universe, Stephen
Colbert was a candidate for President
of the United States who ran as a
third-party candidate. After departing
from a campaign event with a poor
turnout, he saw Spider-Man battling
Grizzly. He tried to help Spider-Man in
his duel, but Spider-Man insisted that
it was not Colbert's fight to be had
and took him to a nearby building. As
Spider-Man continued his fight,
Stephen Colbert pushed a statue off
the building, and it hit Grizzly on the
head. Spider-Man thanked him for his
help and gave him a ride home. In the
end, Colbert won the popular vote,
but lost to Barack Obama in electoral
votes.
During the Secret Invasion event,
Colbert was one of many celebrities
