CHAPTER 1: IDEA ANALYSIS

1.1 Analysis Study

Smartphone is widely use in today’s world. Smartphone usage is an essential for all
regardless of their age, from child to elderly people according to their needs. Smartphone
is very much needed to everyone especially during this Covid-19 pandemic to
communicate, work from home or students who are going through online classes.
Smartphone usage has two different sides; bright side as well as dark side. However, if
unwise of use of smartphones can be destructive. A recent study shows that students are
using smartphones for other purposes mainly on non-beneficial stuffs compared to their
studies. Therefore, awareness on good practises of smartphone usage should be
conducted to combat this issue. To create this awareness, I am deeply thankful and
blessed to produce this interactive multimedia content or also known as offline website
which will help students to understand about their usage of smartphones in a proper way.
In my interactive multimedia website content includes plenty of information about
smartphones, usage, and many more. This website also provides do’s and don’ts of
smartphone usage which will be very beneficial for school students. In addition, this
website also provides some videos on ethical usage of smartphone. The videos that I
included in my website will make the students to have better understanding of using a
smartphone in a correct manner. I am strongly believing that students can get a clearer
picture of using their smartphone usage routine after viewing my website. This
interactive multimedia content is unique whereby the website is made using PowerPoint
with hyperlinks. The interactive multimedia is an offline website, which also have a
similar feature as the online website. The backgrounds are coloured with soothing
colours which gives user a comfortable viewing. The contents are precise, and it is
suitable for school students. It has many functions supported with user friendly buttons,
search tabs and users can explore to different links (example: from page 1 to 2 or 1 to 3).
The website is more convenient to the users because it has many features that help the
users to go back to homepage from current view. The website software that I used to
create the content of this website are Cyberlink PowerDirector and Canva.
