Personal Statement

Engineering has always captivated me because it applies logic through the principles of math and physics
to resolve real-world problems by analyzing the reasons and designing the solutions. I did my schooling at
Iqbal High School and completed training in CNC Maintenance Program. Next, I bagged 88.5% marks in
my Higher Secondary examination at the Punjab Board of Technical Education. I was adamant about
mastering my skills from a distinguished academy and dedicated a year to prepare for entrance
examinations and secured a seat at an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from the
University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. This course bestowed me with relevant knowledge of
Electronics, Biomechanics, Biomedical Imaging Techniques, and Bioinstrumentation among other topics.
I chose Biomedical Engineering for my bachelor's because it combines knowledge and its application from
all the basic subjects of physics, chemistry, and biology.

My professional exposure comes from my stint at Jinnah Hospital Lahore and DHQ Teaching Hospital
Gujranwala. The experiences here adequately supplemented the knowledge that I had gained through my
undergraduate course. I was able to understand the practical applications and functioning of various
medical devices. During my initial training session at the hospital, I got the chance to disassemble an ultra-
sound scanning machine under the supervision of my seniors. I also took part in testing the components,
finding, and overhauling the faults, and assembling the machine again. Over the last year, I had access to
explore the functioning of many high-end machines. These experiences have helped me unearth the
missing link between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

Biomedical Engineering is relatively a new field and is expanding rapidly so it offers me a lot of potentials
to grow. I discovered the boundless dimensions of this field during my internships. My qualification and
experience in this field have motivated me to continue with my further studies. The fascination I have
regarding the operations of the human body and my understanding of the application of engineering
techniques to it, coupled with my passion for this course and overall ability to persevere, is what I believe
enables me to pursue a degree in Biomedical Engineering.

The United Kingdom has a wide choice of top-notch engineering universities. The country is also renowned
for being safe for international students and being receptive to people from other cultures and countries.
This factor personally intrigues me as I have always been inquisitive about various cultures. Finally, the
nation has an established biomedical education system that sets the ideal backdrop for my academic
pursuit. At the University of Keele. I truly wish to explore the limits of my passion and get a chance to
fulfill the paramount desire of becoming a member of the Keele Family.
