RULES AND REGULATION OF CHRIST HALL

Freedom with responsibility and discipline is the way of life at CHRIST HALL. On enrollment, the
residents automatically undertake to abide with the following rules and regulation.

Rules and Regulations for students residing in the CHRIST HALL managed by CHRIST Deemed to be
University.

RULES FOR:
ADMISSION IN CHRIST HALL
1) Admission is open to full time students of Christ Deemed to be University. Preference will be
given to out-station students.
2) Students seeking admission to CHRIST HALL shall apply in the prescribed application form.
3) The application form completed in all respects should be submitted to the University Office
immediately after the admission to the preferred program at CHRIST Deemed to be University.
4) Admission to CHRIST HALL will be cancelled if incomplete or false information is furnished.
5) Applicants who are offered admission in the CHRIST HALL will have to take up the
accommodation by 1 day prior to start of the course, failing which his admission will be cancelled
and the seat will be offered to another student.
6) Admission will be valid for one academic year only.
7) Students will be required to vacate the CHRIST HALL within 2 days on completion of the
scheduled examination each year.
8) Fresh application will have to be filled up in every year.
9) CHRIST HALL fee for the next academic year (if the student is readmitted) is required to be paid
in the month of February.
10) CHRIST HALL reserves its right to cancel admission of undeserving students without giving any
reason.
11) Permission should be obtained from the Hostel Director for students continuing to stay in the
hostel for any Academic reasons during the month of April – May.
DISCIPLINE:
1) Smoking, consumption of alcoholic drinks, fighting and spitting is strictly prohibited in the
CHRIST HALL premises and have Zero tolerance
2) No guest or visitor of the resident will be permitted to visit their rooms.
3) CHRIST HALL is meant only for the use of bonafide students of Christ University. Visitors are not
allowed to enter any room.
4) Every student shall be in CHRIST HALL by 09:30 PM. If he has to stay out after the said timing
owing to any special reason, he must obtain prior permission from CHRIST HALL Director. The
application for leave of absence from the CHRIST HALL shall be made in writing to the CHRIST
HALL Director at least 3 days prior to the leave and his permission shall be obtained.
5) If the student stays away from CHRIST HALL for more than 24 hours without prior official
permission, he will be deemed to have left the hostel and will not be permitted to reside and will
have to vacate his room immediately.
6) No students shall use the service of a CHRIST HALL employee for personal work even on
payment. He shall also not bring any servants from outside even temporarily.
7) The residents are not permitted to change the room allotted to them. But they can be changed at
the discretion of the authorities.
8) Allotment of the room, furniture etc. will be entirely at the discretion of CHRIST HALL Director
and no complaint in this regard will be entertained.
9) No nuisance of any kind shall be made at any time in the CHRIST HALL premises, like playing
loud music/attending telephone call/games, etc.
10) Throwing of water, colour etc. on one another and on the walls / property of CHRIST HALL is
strictly prohibited.
11) Students are not allowed to play any kind of sports in the room.
12) Every case of illness and accident must be reported immediately to the CHRIST HALL Director.
Any Serious health issue, medical history of the resident to be disclosed by parent/guardians and
they should make themselves available on Emergency or on Call from the University Authorities.
13) Students suffering from any contagious diseases will not be allowed to stay in CHRIST HALL.
Decision of the CHRIST HALL Director in this regard will be final and binding.
14) Students are not permitted to be in the Hostel while the class is in progress. In case of sickness
special permission from the Director is to be sought.
15) No functions or celebrations shall be organized without the permission of the CHRIST HALL
Director.
16) Resident students are not permitted to convene any meeting of any sort under any circumstances
anywhere in the CHRIST HALL premises.
17) No posters, paintings, notices etc. should be put up anywhere, either in rooms or lobbies.
18) All matters relating to differences among students and complaints about CHRIST HALL
employees shall be brought to the notice of the CHRIST HALL Director, who will take such action
as may be necessary.
19) Students are expected to switch off the lights and fans in their rooms every time they go out and
take precautions to economize electricity consumption. All the lights in the rooms are to be
switched off by 11:30 PM. strict silence should be observed after 10:30 PM.
20) Every student shall keep the room allotted to him clean and neat. He shall take proper care of the
furniture and fixtures handed over to him. The CHRIST HALL authorities have the right to enter
and inspect the rooms at any time, even in the absence of students.
21) Students who have found spoiling the CHRIST HALL property by any means will be penalized by
charging Fine.
22) Charges for any damages to the property as well as to the furniture and fixtures caused by
student/students negligence will be recovered from the student/students staying in the said
room.
23) Every student of the said room will be held responsible for any broken items in flats/room and
all are required to contribute for its repair.
24) Student should not drive nails, screws etc. into the wall or doors. No repair shall be done by the
students themselves. They should approach the CHRIST HALL warden who will arrange for
repairs.
25) CHRIST HALL Authorities do not hold themselves responsible for the safe custody of the
property of the students staying in the CHRIST HALL. Students should keep their belongings
under lock and key and should take proper care of their belongings. They should not leave the
key of the room anywhere around.
26) Before leaving the CHRIST HALL, a student must pay all dues and hand over the charges of rooms
and other material in satisfactory condition to the CHRIST HALL Director.
27) If any student is found misbehaving, he will be expelled from the CHRIST HALL immediately and
the fee paid by him will be forfeited.
28) If one leaves the hostel before completing the period of one year, the deposit amount will not be
refunded.
29) Refund of Hostel Fee (after adjusting dues for days of actual stay) if any, may be permitted subject
to a minimum deduction of monthly rental fee for 3 months. However No Refund shall be made
if Withdrawal is after 30 days of Commencement of classes.
30) Deduction of 25% of the fees will be made if the University is incapacitated to or restrained from
accommodating its students in the residence hall due to Covid 19 pandemic related restrictions
imposed / mandated by the Union/ State Government or other Regulatory Agencies for the
duration of the closed down.
31) If night outs are desired the request has to reach the director’s office at least 3 days prior to the
leave and permission must be obtained from CHRIST HALL Director. If the student takes night
out without prior permission, the admission to CHRIST HALL will be terminated with immediate
effect and further disciplinary action at the University level will be initiated.
32) No music system/Speakers are allowed in CHRIST HALL room.
33) Any complaint (Such as indecent/Noisy behavior) from the University Security
personnel/neighbors/society will result in severe action.
34) CHRIST HALL is required to be vacated with luggage in every summer vacation.
35) The residents are directed not to bring ladies to the hostel.
36) Students should be present at CHRIST HALL and at University on the last working day before the
University vacations and should report to CHRIST HALL one day prior to the commencement of
classes after vacations.
37) The student’s admission at CHRIST HALL will be cancelled, if he does not have 85% of attendance
at University. (Attendance percentage up to 10% may be condoned in case of serious and genuine
medical reasons).
38) No food items are permitted in the Hostel Rooms.
39) The residents of CHRIST HALL shall register their In-time at 09:30 PM and Out-time at 08:15 AM
via Bio Metric system every day.
40) Washing Clothes, Bathing after 10.30 PM is not permitted.
41) No kettles and other electric or any other cooking range are not permitted inside the hostel.

possession of my room with 2 days from the latest date of my examination of each academic
year.
6. I am aware that, I am liable for disciplinary action for breach of any of the rules and
regulations of the CHRIST HALL, which may result even in cancellation of my admission to
the CHRIST HALL as well as to the institution where I am studying.
7. I am aware that 85% of attendance is required for appearing for university exam and if at
any given time the attendance fall short of 85% the admission at CHRIST HALL will be
cancelled.

I have read all the rules and regulations of CHRIST HALL, I hereby agree to abide by the rules and
regulations of CHRIST HALL in force from time to time. I am liable for disciplinary action in case if any
breach.
