Dear Ma’am/Sir:

Greetings in the name of peace and reconciliation.

My name is and I am writing in application for a scholarship to assist me throughout my

time studying in the ____________________________.
Being awarded the opportunity to study in your institution and further widen my knowledge and
skill is an incredible opportunity for me and one I intend to seize wholeheartedly without
reservation. I have consistently proven throughout my previous studies and working experience
that when presented with an opportunity I will strive as hard as I can to best represent myself and
reward those who have granted me a chance to prove such. Being raised in an average working
family has given me firm faith and that things, may it be work related, daily struggles, life
problems and whatnot will always be prospered if in all things we do are combined with prayers
and faith from the One above, indeed with that mindset all things are possible. All the struggles I
had faced and still facing to pursue my career and finish my studies had made stronger, and
firmer in faith.
In the years I spent in my country, the Philippines, in which I finished my tertiary level at a
Catholic University—University I always take pride that in everything I have done, despite the
hardships to finish my studies, my faith in Him never ceased. He guided me and showed me the
light in every downfall. Comforted me in my worst and lifted me to the person I am now—a
strong-willed individual. The school being an academe that centers its teachings in the Catholic
way of life has provided me with more knowledge and taught me principles, as well as it
broadens my horizon in having a deeper faith and a wide view of my religion. My daily
struggles, as well as late parents’ struggles have been my driving tool to always move further and
further in achieving my goals. These experiences has scaffold my foundation of deeper trust and
faith to the Lord, that life, even though it is full of hardships, it is indeed worth living.
Relocating from Philippines to Denmark for the period of the program represents a huge
challenge and an opportunity on my part. A challenge for it is no longer the same as my
schooling back in my country where the comfort of my family is present, I am alone now. It is an
opportunity for I will be given the chance, if God above permits, to study abroad and learn the
culture as well as the language of the country that I am in. Despite all the worries that cloud me, I
know that with His guidance, anchored by prayers, I can conquer these fears.
I will strive and give my utmost potential as well as my dedication to the best interest of the
institution if given the chance to become part of it. I thank you for taking the time to evaluate my
application. May the Lord bless you a hundredfold.

Sincerely,
