Module 4 LEs and ST

Learning Exercise:
Among the five (5) ethical philosophies discussed, which would you prefer (as it
fits your personality the most)? Discuss your answer using the following guide
questions: (30 pts)
1. Which part of the ethical philosophy fits your personality/character the most?
Explain why you say so in maximum of 5 sentences.
 For me, I would preferably choose the Virtue on Character Ethics of
Aristotle. Character cannot be separated on us. I can say that my habits,
actions, and emotional responses are all united and directed towards the
moral and the good. Both sets of actions affect my character. Therefore,
both public actions and private actions cannot be separated.

2. Discuss one PERSONAL EXPERIENCE which you think reflects an application of

the ethical philosophy (which you chose in number 1). 5 sentences only pls.
 This happened when I went to a medical center for my quarterly check
up on my OB-Gyne and I accidentally overheard their conversation with
one pregnant patient. As what I’ve heard, the OB-GYNE who believes
contraception is unethical, provides it in the office because she feels
obligated to give the patient what she wants. So, my thoughts are cloudy
that time but I managed to understand the situation. That kind of public
act can affect one’s character even if one’s private belief is the opposite
action. Good character may be formed by growing in the virtues,
particularly wisdom.
Summative Test:
In your PERSONAL OPINION/OWN IDEA, which among the pictures below would
you consider as the most applicable principle to implement for ethics’ classroom
policies? Explain your point/s in 5 sentences maximum. (20 pts)

In my own perspective, EQUITY is the most applicable principle to implement in

an Ethic’s Classroom Policies. The attribute of being fair and reasonable in a way that
treats everyone equally is defined as equity. Equity, on the other hand, is the
recognition that we all have different situations, as well as the allocation of resources
and opportunities to reach an equal end. That image demonstrates that everyone gets
the help they need. This means that no two persons have the comparable needs, thus
they must examine each person's needs while deciding what sort of support to offer.
We are all aware that everyone has a need that must be met; yet, not everyone's
need is the same, since some people require assistance that no one else does. In the
classroom, for example, some students learn quickly while others do not, therefore
the teacher must design a strategy for his slow learner to keep up with the rest of the
class.
