Evaluating hazards and risks in the workplace is the process of determining


the level of risk created by the hazard and the chance of having an injury or illness to
occur.

Five steps to evaluate hazards and risks


1. Identify the hazards

3. Evaluate risks and decide on how to prevent it
4. Record the results
5. Review the evaluation and update if necessary

Health may be affected by occupational exposures in many different ways


and eventually can affect your other organs.

Here are the following health effects of hazards in the workplace:

1. Asthma. It is caused from flour or other baking agents.

2. Musculoskeletal. It refers to back pain from manual handling of the things or


equipment.

3. Nervous and mental. It may result to nerve deafness caused by noise and
mental illness caused by stress.

4. Blood or Marrow. It is an anemia caused by lead that damage the


hemoglobin.

5. Genitourinary and Endocrine. It can damage the kidney caused by some


solvent exposures.

6. Liver. Hepatitis caused by toxic from chemicals.
