This is the third quest that players should go on. When players arrive in town, there will be an NPC, most
likely the accompanied NPC from the previous quest, who will be at the entrance to town. It seems that
some magic barrier is keeping them from entering the town. This is a very unique effect as detect magic
can't dispel the field. However, the NPC can break the barrier if the players can retrieve magicite materials
so the NPC can expend them to dispel the barrier. Inform the players that you need each of them to bring
you as much magicite material as the players can find in the Barrier owners home, discovered to be nearby.
This can be the sewers, a cave, or even a temporary structure such as a tower or tomb which will be
destroyed when players finish the quest. After players arrive at the designated location, the players will find
themselves at the entrance of the location.
Read to players: "As you approch the entrance of the first area, you see thick, black and tangled vines that
cover the walls that seem to grow a glowing moss on them. There is an obvious stench in the air of moist
dirt and what smells to be fresh manuer. You hear nothing but silence, no wind, no animals, nothing.....".
The purpose of this quest is to have each person encounter and surpass all skill events depending on their
class so they can learn how to use them on a quest. Use an event once for each player with the relative skill
required to bypass the event. Below are the basic events, multiple if needed, included on this quest and the
skill necessary to bypass it. Read all listed events as you may want to put some before others depending on
the skills of all players. All events are proficiency 1.
Players are first struck by a magical mist Hazard that only allows players to use skill incants until the end of
the quest. Furthermore, when they expand an ability point to use a skill they recieve that ability point back;
this effect lasts for the remainder of the quest. The first event should be relative to the door and can include
any relative skill uses to pass. For each player that used a skill, award the players with a magicite material
each which magically appears in their hand after bypassing the door. *SEE PAGE 2 AND 3 FOR EVENTS
