4. IMPORTANT REMARK

• MAC Security feature on the 4-GC-LW, 4-GCB-LW and 4-GO-LW requires “macsec-
Capable” image.

5. CHANGES IN R4.7.2

• Improved power supervising of backplane voltages.

• Channelized SDH services (CSoP Smart SFPs): Improved TXCare handling of the ECID
values during the modify actions.
• Improved CSM firewall rules on CSM to support designs where TXCare is connected
via a routable network using multiple entry points.
• Additional check is built in to supervise the ERPS RingMacId value, if mismatches are
detected in the network TXCare will raise an alarm. Loading the network again will
resolve the alarm.
CAUTION: All nodes in the network should be reachable before you load. Partial
loading is not allowed.

6. NEW FEATURES IN R4.7.1

• MEF 3.0 Certification CSM540-A E-Access and E-Transit.

7. NEW FEATURES IN R4.7.0

• New 4-CONTRA module: 4 ports Contradirectional interface module transporting four

64 kbps links.
• New 6-GEP-L module: 6 ports gigabit Ethernet interface module with 4 ports
supporting PoE (=power over ethernet).
• 8-FXS module supports conference call with Cisco Unified Communication Manager.
• Diagnostic feature, makes reporting of issues easier. TXCare generates one diagnostic
file that includes most of the information to investigate the issue.
• TXCare operates with separate language pack which can be downloaded from the
portal.
• Hirschman devices integration done for Greyhound GRS 1042, Greyhound GRS 106,
Bobcat BRS42, Bobcat BRS30-BRS32. Supported in the generic devices concept.
• TXCare can run on the MS Windows Server 2022 edition.

Page 6 of 17 Edition 1
eXcellence in TRANsport XTran Release Notes

8. RESTRICTIONS/KNOWN ISSUES

• At startup of the node connected directly to TXCare, the node can report an 'NTP
unreachable' problem if TXCare is configured as NTP server for this node. The node is
not able to connect to the NTP server. This alarm will disappear automatically after 1
hour maximum and the date/time on the node will be synchronized.
• Links between 1-10G-LW modules should have the same PHY mode configuration on
both sides, if the PHY mode differs the link does not come up.
• If the clock settings of a synchronous RS232 port are changed from internal to
adaptive and back to internal clock it is possible that bit errors occur in the serial data
traffic. Rebooting the 7-SERIAL interface module or interrupting the WAN link for a
short time will restore the service.
• When creating an Ethernet service on a 1-10G-LW interface port with a high
bandwidth (typical more than 4 Gbit/s), the default burst size may be too low,
depending on the traffic behavior of the connected devices. This can lead to traffic
loss in the network. The burst size can be changed when creating the service or
modifying the service.
• Connecting a remote TXCare client to the module in the second CSM slot (CSM-2) can
result in communication loss between the remote TXCare client and TXCare server.
Connect a remote TXCare client to CSM-1 if possible.
• The following fields only allow alphanumeric character sets (a-z, A-Z, 0-9, <space>, _,
-): name of tunnels and services, PoE description field.
• IEEE1588v2 is supported on 4-GC-LW, 4-GCB-LW, 4-GO-LW, 1-10G-LW (full-duplex
ports) with following restrictions:
o Only Ethernet encapsulation on Port 1 and 2 of 4-GC-LW, 4-GCB-LW, 4-GO-LW
o Any change in link down/up, configuration, or CSM switchover, results in an
automatic reset of IEEE1588v2.
o Bit errors can result in corrupt IEEE1588v2 packets causing faulty IEEE1588v2
handling. In that case, reset IEEE1588v2 in the port properties of TXCare Network
Hardware. Traffic will be interrupted for respectively 10 seconds maximum on 4-
GC-LW, 4-GCB-LW, 4-GO-LW and 1 second on a 1-10G-LW IFM.
• In very rare cases, a 10G link (1-10G-LW) can generate “remote alarm” with no data
being sent after a module reboot or port enable/disable. Workaround: reboot the
module again.
• Fast Ethernet is not supported on the 4-GO(C)-L modules in a 10G slot.
• CSM switch over times are increased since MACSec functionality is added.
• When a 4-GC-LW or 4-GO-LW module is running an R4.3.3 image, while the CSM 540
has an image < R4.3.3, and no-negotiation is configured on one of the IFM ports, then
the CSM 540 keeps on booting.
• Connecting external ETS devices to XTran requires fixed port settings on both sides.
Correct speed and duplex setting are required on the optical ports.

Edition 1 Page 7 of 17
XTran Release Notes eXcellence in TRANsport

• Limitations for IFM type versus slot compatibility in the XT-2215-A chassis.
o 1-10G-LW and 1-40G-LW: only allowed in slots 6/7/8/9 (slots around the
CSMs)
o All other modules are only allowed in slots 1-5,10-15.
• Regarding IFM compatibility in XT-2215-A nodes:
o In some cases, it is possible that an IFM that is inserted in the node or
configured via TXCare, is not taken into service because the slot has been
used previously in a manner that is not compatible with the IFM. In such a
case an alarm is raised: "Current hardware setting not compatible for
Measured Interface Module IFM-<slot>”.
o Possible solutions are to reboot the node or to insert and configure the IFM in
another slot in order to enable the ports and allow load actions.”

• Issues noticed if using Fast Ethernet SFP modules on port of 4-GO-LW and 4-GC(B)-
LW.
• Combining MACSEC functionality with IEEE1588 timestamping on the same port is
currently not working for the of 4-GO-LW and 4-GC(B)-LW module.
• IEEE1588 timestamping is not supported on the 1-40G-LW (S30924-Q218-X101) and
4-10G-LW (S30924-Q219-X101) modules.

9. ADVISABLE GUIDELINES
OTN SYSTEMS ensures backwards compatibility with previous MySQL version 5.6, but
strongly recommends the migration to MySQL 8.0 for security reasons. To know more about
MySQL 8.0 security enhancements, please visit:
