FOR A HOSPITAL AND A MANUFACTURER" on Page 301 of the textbook and answer the
questions 1-4 on Page 303. Please submit your assignment in an MS Word Document with
a cover page and references.

1. Enter motorolasolutions.com and find case studies similar to the above that are
related to restaurants, cruise ships, salesforce automation, and education. Relate
the wireless system to the benefits for each case.

Motorola Solution’s MOTOTRBO enhances communication during social distancing,


making it easier for group communications and conference calls to take place in a
wide area coverage. The product can be used in educational facilities for better
coordination among staff in order to ensure social distancing, but also in every
industry where communication and coordination are of value, such as the hospitality
industry (restaurants and cruise ships).
Their Video Security and Analytics system ensures the safety of campuses and
wider areas, “ providing organizations with an application that helps improve
consistency and effectiveness of response actions with standard operating
procedures when presented with better insight from all their connected safety and
security systems”.

Yodobashi Camera uses tags attached to boxes and containers. Conduct a Google
search to find other companies that tag individual items.
Yodobashi Camera uses a wireless system called Radio Frequency Identification
that consists of tags and readers.The reader has antennas that emit radio waves,
receiving signals in return from the RFID tag.
Amazon, Inditex, Marks and Spencer, Walmart, and Nike are some companies that
have introduced the RFID system to their supply and delivery chain.

3. In what ways has patient safety increased in Toronto’s North York General Hospital.
The eCare system has improved the quality of care of the patients of Toronto’s North
York General Hospital by developing an electronic health system that easens the
work of the staff in terms of easing communication among staff, as well as a more
efficient medication administration system and a system for orders.
4. Find any enterprise applications that are provided by Motorola’s competitors. Write
a report.
Axis Communications has a range of IP based products for video surveillance,
analytics, access control, intercoms, and audio systems that target organizations,
such as businesses, educational institutions, and governments.
Genetec also focuses on security , with a Security Center system that unifies all data
in order to better manage security policies, monitor events, and run investigations.
The New Orleans Real Time Crime Center, Lee Health Center, Montreal Trudeau
Airport are some entities that use their system and define it as “innovative”,
“scalable”, and “efficient”.
L3harris Technologies is a global defense and aerospace company that delivers
advanced defense across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains. Utilized for
coastal and perimeter surveillance, ISR platforms and sensors, land vehicles and
shelters, their security system provides low risk, integrated, and dependable security
systems with an emphasis on connecting maritime, air, and ground nodes for
military and civilian applications, L3harris Technologies is also is one of the top 10
government contractor as of 2019 and the sixth largest defense contractor in the
United States.
