THE BOY WHO NAMED SUTAN

A long time ago, there was a family who lived in Pangean just got a child after 20 years
marriage. The child was boy. He was named by Sutan, who was famous by Sutan Nan Garang.
He was smart and growth fast. As a adult, he learnt Silat, a self-defense technique. He was so
ambitious, like his named “Sutan” that means “Sultan”. He’s stubborn and more prominent from
his friends.
One day, he told to his mother that he wanted to eat big Puyu fish. But his fishing rod had broken
for long time. And he wanted to find new in a hill that people never went there. He went bravely.
He said “I know who I am, I’m a man that mean I mustn’t be coward”. He told that to convince
himself. He took a rest under the tree after walking too long. Then there was an old man wear
white dress show in front of him suddenly. Sutan was scared and the old man tried to calm him
down. Then he said “you have entered a forest who had so many devils and beasts. Better for you
to go home now and be careful on the way home”. On the way home, he got surprised because
he saw many bamboo tree. Otherwise, he never found them before. He took one bamboo fast to
take it home.
Fishing rod had been got, so Sutan went fishing. Unfortunately, there was no fish eat his bite.
Then Sutan mean to take bath in Buntar Lake, but it cancelled because there was a big pig
already took bath. That pig bathed weirdly. It put off the chain to the ground before taking bath.
Sutan took it with his fishing rod. At home, he told about it to his mother and she asked Sutan to
give it back. But Sutan didn’t want to do that. At night, he swallowed that pig chain.
In village, there was people who liked and didn’t like him. Pig became big problem because it
always ate Pangean villagers’ plant. Pig could ravaged village. They also attacked people. To
prevent pig raid, people made a castle. But it didn’t work. The pig always rampaged. So that,
Sutan was accused as the trouble maker because he took the pig chain. Villagers hated him more.
The villagers agreed that Sutan should kill the raging pig. Sutan complied with the request
because he knew it would be impossible to evade the request and at the same time prove his
responsibility and manhood
The next day, the villagers were present at the arena with the big pig they had caught earlier.
Before going to the arena, Sutan asked permission and apologized to his mother. Sutan shows his
responsibility.
People gave way to Sutan Nan Garang to enter the arena. The fight will start. The two different
creatures both have strengthness. They fought with all their might. A very terrible fight. Tossed
each other. kick each other. Take turns. Approaching the climax of the battle, the two creatures
seemed to be getting weaker. The big pig looks very tired, but strangely he still tries to kill his
opponent, Sutan.
After a long and fierce battle, both of them collapsed. Sutan was hit by a pig's fangs and left him
helpless. Sutan's mother entered the arena embracing Sutan before exhaling her last breath. The
