Office Automation means,

We are making documents in word ,We can prepare any excel sheet by
using MS Excel, making any reports, graphic design, images send or
receive.

Office Automation is the process of using computers & communication


technology to perform different tasks in the office.

➔ It can be used to create Letters, Reports, Spread sheets,


Graphs, Images and send or receive Emails over the network.
INTRODUCTION TO WINDOWS :

Windows is basically an operating system.

Operating system :- It is the program which administer running


other programs and help the user control computer system.

MS windows is a very commonly used system.

There are many types of operating system available in the market like
Linux, Unix, etc.

GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE (GUI) :

A graphical user interface enables the user to give commands through


icons and pull down menus.

DESKTOP :

Desktop is a work space important tools are located.

Pointer : By using pointer you can run the program.

OBJECTS & ICONS :

Program files on the desktop.

The program and file on the desktop are the objects and each objects
are represented by icons.

Icon is a picture or symbol that represents program or file.

WHAT IS TASKBAR?

→The task bar is a horizontal bar at the bottom of the desktop. At the
left end there is a start button.

After clicking on the start button display start menu, list all
programming files for user.

SEARCH :

The search features allows user to search, find & open program.

MOVE OR SIZE A WINDOW : (RESIZING A WINDOW)

You can change size of a window.

Control Buttons:-

Minimize:- It is used to minimize the file screen.

Maximize:- It is used to make the size of screen big or small.

Close :- It is used to close the window

Look at the Control buttons at the top right corner of the tittle bar.

Click on the middle button.(Restore Down)

→ The Wordpad window will become smaller in size.

→Again click on the middle button to get back to its normal size

WHAT IS HARDWARE?

Hardware is the physical part of Computer that we can touch and see.

Examples,

Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse

Some parts of hardware are inside the CPU, we can see them when we
open the body of CPU

Examples,

Hard disc, CPU chip, Motherboard etc.

UPS : Uinterrupted Power Supply:

UPS is a device that allows a computer to keep running for atleast a


short time when incoming power is interrupted

WINDOWS EXPLORER:

It is a place where you can explore any drive or folder very easily.

It has two panes,

Right panes :- Right place displays its content.

Left panes :- Left place contains drives and folders.

FILES:

It is a collection of related information stored together on same


storage device such as Hard disc, C Disc, DVD.

FOLDERS:

A folder in a computer is like cabinet where we give relevant files


/several files.

Creating Files :

1.Firstly open MS word.

2. Start typing or texting.

3. Office button for saving file

4. Save it.

Select- it is used for selecting files

Open- it is used to open any files

Move- it is used to move any file to another place

Copy- it is used for same copy of file in different place

Delete- it is used to delete the file from the storage area.

Creating a Folder:

1. Right click on the blank area of the Desktop

A new folder will be created.

2) Click on new option

3) Select folder option, Write the name of folder.

New folder will be created.

CONTEXT MENU:

When we right click on the screen. One menu pops up which is called
Context Menu.

It saves our lots of time & That’s why it is also called as a Shortcut
menu.

→MS Access

→ Google Office Tools

MS Word is used for making text documents..

MS Excel is used for creating sheets with Mathematical operation.

Ex. Result, Salary sheet.

MS Powerpoint is used for making Presentations slide.

MS Access is used for creating database.

. Google office Tools is released by Google (In all Tools are combined
together).

SHORTCUT:

Shortcut is an icon that provides an easy and quick way to open any
application or software which we can use frequently.

Creating a shortcut icon.

1. Right click on the app which we want to create a shortcut of

2. Then select send option.

3. Select desktop option

And your shortcut is ready.

Introduction to Accessories and Control Panel:

The control Panel is a special Folder that contains the tools (system
software) Used to configure the hardware & software.

Ex. You Can Customize the mouse, Keyboard, printer etc. and
appearance of desktop Using colour schemes, screensaver, etc.

The new software can be installed as well as already existing software
can be uninstalled.
