Title Mathematics Poem
*Students will think of the title for their own poem.
Overview The students are tasked to write and recite a poem about conic sections. They will
record their own poem and save it as a video file.
Reason for The Performance Task will enhance students’ critical thinking skills and creativity in
Collaboration writing and constructing a poem. Students will also develop their communication skills
in using English language and pronounce words correctly. This also helps students to
develop their self-confidence while recording their own poem. This will lessen the task of
the students since two subjects are collaborating on their Performance Task.

II. DIRECTIONS

Goal: The student will write a poem, recite the poem and record the poem and save it as mp4. The
content of the poem must contain key concepts of conic section; its meaning, parts, equations, and
examples in real-life situations. The length of the video should not exceed to 5 minutes but not less than 2
minutes.
Role: He/she will act as a writer and a poet at the same time.
Audience: Teachers and classmates.
Situation: The student will create a poem containing the key concepts of conic sections. He/she may
choose one of the types of conic sections or use them all in the poem. Student will recite and record the
poem he created.
Product: A video recording of his/her own poem.

V. EXPECTED OUTCOME / RESULT


A video recording of their math poem containing importance concepts about conic sections with
correct pronunciation of each term and expressions while reciting their own poem.
