and Passion of My Life

Let me introduce myself, my name is Shafaa Yuwana Nur Hapsari. About my name, it has a
meaning. Shafaa means Clear, Yuwana means forest, Nur means the light, and Hapsari
means an angel. If they are connected, my name means the clear light of forest angel.
Anyway, my name who also bring me to Faculty of Forestry, give me inspiration and make
me love forests. I hope my name can bring me to be a person who take care of forest and
give the light to threatened forests.

About my personality, I am an energetic girl, likes to make a friend with anyone, creative
and highly motivated. About my life, maybe it looks so ordinary by some people, but my life
has a lot of challenge and for me my life looks so extraordinary. Never give up, struggles,
self-reliant, dreams, realities, and my passion. Maybe, that sounds so dramatic, but that is a
description of my life. Let me tell you about my life

Never Give Up

Since I am on Elementary School, I don’t want to be left behind my friends. I have to

attempted to be number two or number three. Why not number one? Because I know that I
can’t to be number one. To be number two or number three, is enough for me, that is great
thought. The important is to have a high rank on my class. I am an ambitious girl, if I fall, I
have to get up as fast and strong as I can. If my scores are bad, I attempt 10 times harder
than before until my scores become great and make me satisfy. On Junior High School and
Senior High School, I apply some things, reduce the frequency play smartphone, takes
tutoring class, and wake up on 3 am to pray and study every day. Until I can reach my
dream, which is accepted on Gadjah Mada University.

When I will graduate from Elementary School, my goal is having great scores. That is can’t to
be reach easily. Especially I am a person who late of technology. While my friends have a
phone and use application to communication each other, asking the task with internet help
and playing games. I don’t have a phone at that time, I really left behind my friends about
technology and the trends. When I do a task to print out a poster or typing something, I will
go to internet café and do that task with internet café computer. But that is makes me to
focus on my goal. Getting high score on class and National Examination. Studying every day
and ever night, doing practice for National Examination, is my daily routine at that moment.
Until, when the day of National Examination, I can answer every questions. And the result I
have a perfect score on Math which is my weakness subject, and I also getting high score on
other subjects. I also have high parallel rank my school.
I realize, work hard will give a great result. When on Junior High School, I successfully
accepted on favourite school on my hometown. My goal is having 3rd rank on my class. The
competition between us is little bit harder, but if I work harder, I can reach my goal. Again, I
still don’t have a phone, but that is not problem. Until the problem appear, that is I have a
phone on 7th grade, Junior High School. A phone makes someone easy to distract. My scores
are fall, and my parents disappoint with me score, I also feel sad and unsatisfied. Phone can
make a time bomb for anyone. The outside looks so good and tempt someone, but it can be
time bomb if you addicted to the phone. So, I make a limit time to use a phone, and back to
be like Shafaa used to be.

Anyway, about choose the university. I have a clear goal. When I was Elementary School, I
go to Jogja with my parents. I really like the cultures in Jogja. The Javanese cultures are very
strong and the people really take care the cultures. And so many places with Javanese
nuance and the vibes are really good. There is something in my head which is invite me to
study in Jogja. So that, I tell to my mom, that I want to study in Jogja.

Back to the struggles and never give up in my life. That always appear every year in my life.
Especially when I was Senior High School. My goal in Senior High School is accepted in
Gadjah Mada University with report card selection. The beginning of Senior High School life,
my scores relative stable and increase. Until 3rd Semester, all of problems begin.

Pandemic comes and makes a lot of problem. Online learning has done in every school. It
becomes shock learning for me. Because I have to study in new way. A problem about my
lazy personality has appear and make my score fall like a waterfall. My 3 rd semester is really
bad, messy, and unexpected. I think online learning will be easy, but I was wrong. Never give
up is the solution. I wouldn’t give up easily. I learn from my mistakes and back to be like
Shafaa used to be again. I wake up 3 am every morning to study and prayer, thanks to my
father who gave me this tip. And I also takes tutoring class which I weak on some subjects,
like math, and physic. And fortunately my score slowly rising like a sunrise.

Method who my father give to me is really effective. It is wake up before subuh to pray and
after that following by study. Again, thanks to my father who gave me a giid method to
study.

Self-reliance

When I was kid, I am used to be an independence girl. My mother is kind a busy because she
has to teaching, my father is really busy because he works in the other town. So, I have to
be independence girl. When I was at Elementary School, I have to go to school alone, with
public transportation, that was 2nd grade school. Sometimes, I really envy with my school
mates who are go to school with their parents or just their mother or just their father. I also
envy when their parents delivered the lunch box to school when lunch break.
But, I must be grateful because I become self-reliance. I used to do my school task alone,
because I know, my mother is tired enough because she has to work. This self-reliance make
me to be a better person and increase my reasonability.

Dreams

I have a lot of dreams. But sometimes, that dreams have to let them go because I don’t have
a lot of passion. A dream make me want to study in Gadjah Mada University. First, let me
tell you about my dreams when I was kid. Tell about passion, I have a passion on dance. I
can learn some move with quickly, but that is no matter to academic subjects. Back to my
dream, I was want to be an Astronaut and go to the moon with Nasa’s rocket. I want to see
the earth from moon dan see the stars in the space. But, to be an astronaut needed a
passion and ability to learn math and physic. Unfortunately, I don’t have passion to learn
math and physic, that are so hard to be understand, and they are my weakness subject
among all of the subject in Senior High School. I also have a dream to be an Indonesian
Ambassador to South Korea, but again, I don’t have a passion to speak in front of crowd
audience because I have a stage fright, my hands will tremble following my body and last my
feet, until my voice will be trembling too. Actually, I am a good and understanding speaker
when I do presentation. Then, I find the dream which can I be realize in future, that is to be
the part of ministry of environment and forestry of the Republic Indonesia.

Then how can I find this dream?

When I was kid, I am an energetic girl who has a lot of energy. I like to out with my parents
to nature destination and I like to play in outdoor. Whether is hot or rainy day, I still like to
play on outside. My grandpa and my grandma often take me to gardening in their garden,
that is the clause why since I was kid I really like plants. I like to see colourful flower, and
greenish leaf in front of my grandma’s house. My father is forestry alumni and he works on
forestry and agriculture sector. My father was like to show me tiger, tapir, rhinoceros,
weasel. Monkey, and gibbon photos which are he captured with his camera trap. Those
photos make me fascinated with wildlife. My father always teaching me to plant the trees
on around our house and he also teaching me to take care the plants correctly, so the plants
can grow-up nicely. Seeing my father is really great and cool, I want to be like him. I want to
take care the nature, I want to see the wonderful nature in Indonesia or in the world. So, I
decide to take collage school in Gadjah Mada University, the Faculty of Forestry.

Even more, I really good and passionate at Biology. I like to learn about environtmen, I like
to see green plants and I like to take care of them. So that dream come to my life.
I like nature, like sea or forest. Sea is wonderful, but kind a hot, because it just a water, but
the sea breeze really make my mind become relax. Whereas forest is also wonderful, the
forest breeze, the sound of foliage, the sound of monkey, gibbon, etc make me relax and
fresh. In the forest, the air are mid, calming, and fresh. Especially the stars can be seen
clearly in the forest, because the minim pollution and the fresh air, make the stars can shine
brighter. I can see the constellations, and twinkle stars. those are the clause why I really like
nature, especially forest. And I want to learn more things about forest.
