Dengue Fever

The decade I chose is 1980, and the health issue I am going to discuss is dengue fever.

Dengue fever is a prevalent mosquito-borne flavivirus infection that first manifested in 1981.

I chose the article “Cytokine expression in dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever

patients with bleeding and severe hepatitis.” This article is a reliable source from “The

American journal of tropical medicine and hygiene.” This article was authored by Imad et al.

(2020) and was published in 2020. According to this article, dengue fever is the world's most

prevalent mosquito-borne flavivirus infection. This article discusses that Arbitrators work to

increase vascular penetrability by monitoring the endothelium, which causes the plasma to

leak out and compromise hemodynamics and coagulopathy. One of these is dysregulated

immunological arbiters that lead to temporary pathophysiology during illness. To induce

substantial contamination, a few factors cooperate and work in concert. The most well-known

flavivirus pollution today is dengue, which is spread by mosquitoes.

The level of prevalence concerning dengue fever in 1981 is different from the

situation today. This is based on the fact that serious interventions have been incorporated to

ensure that the level of spread and prevalence reduces up to zero. 1981 was the year when

dengue fever was discovered, and it impacted several people globally. Its impact in 1981 was

enormous because scientists, the medical and healthcare institutions had not developed the

requirements for its treatment interventions. Unlike today, severe and more accurate research

has been conducted concerning this prevalent mosquito-borne flavivirus infection, and some

drugs can eliminate it. When this dengue fever spread in 1981, the level of technology was

limited. Thus, no significant scientific research was demonstrated to overcome and eliminate

this prevalent mosquito-borne flavivirus infection (Imad et al., 2020).

As opposed to the present situation, technology is at hand. Society now has enough

accurate and precise medical and healthcare institutions to treat and eliminate this prevalent

mosquito-borne flavivirus infection. The 1981 outbreak of dengue fever took the club

unawares, a situation that led to the massive condition of people globally. Unlike now,

different medical and healthcare organizations worldwide have developed laboratory tests to

create the vaccines required to immunize this disease. People are now vaccinated against

dengue fever and can no longer get infected. The environmental setting in 1981 was also

favorable for the outbreak and spread of this prevalent mosquito-borne flavivirus infection,

unlike the current state. Additionally, societal influence, such as improved technological

support, has led to better treatment systems to curb dengue fever (Imad et al., 2020).
