TheOrganisation’s Vision Swasti Seva sangathan, words which literally means
and Mission statements?
‘People’s Education towards Development” is a non-
governmental organization that works with rural and tribal
communities of Odisha state . Swasti Seva sangathan
partners with rural communities to address their critical
needs of education, health, safe drinking water, sanitation,
livelihoods and employment in a manner that is sustainable,
socially inclusive, gender equitable and empowering. These
partnerships are fostered through local institutions in the
villages through an experiential learning process of
democratic and equitable ways of governance. Swasti
Seva sangathan mission is to enable critical masses of

 poor and marginalized rural communities to achieve a
‘dignified quality of life.’
Vision: An equitable and sustainable society where
people live in peace and dignity.
Mission: To promote processes which are stainable
socially inclusive, gender equitable; to enable critical
masses of poor and marginalized rural people or
communities to achieve a dignified quality of life.

where we work: We work, primarily, in the Indian State of

Odisha. Our work has spread to 6 districts of Odisha. . As
of December 2015 we have work with 123 villages.

CORE AREAS OF ACTIVITIES/MAJOR AREA OF WORK

OF THE ORGANIZATION:

 Revival and promotion of village industry including

handicrafts sector for strengthening the rural and tribal
economy.
 Social capital restoration towards rural & tribal
economic upliftment, hence eradication of poverty.
Major area of work.  Women empowerment and child development
 Rural entrepreneurship development.
 Entrepreneurship and skill development towards
generating employment opportunity for the
disadvantaged youth , adolescents & women of rural
and tribal Odisha.
 Revival and promotion of Indian cultural heritages.
 Poverty eradication through various sectoral
interventions.
Some of the key Sustainable livelihood promotion in cluster approach by
achievements of the intervening skill trainings, design up-gradation trainings,
Organisation. Integrated design development programmes, infrastructure
development (for the artisans) and marketing arrangement on
regular basis in 2 nos of clusters separately in 2 districts has
developed the social and economical conditions of 548 rural
artisans .

By intervening skill training, EDP for the development of

entrepreneurship quality and proper escort support service under
Rural entrepreneurship development project of NABARD during

.
2003 to 2006 has created 320 rural entrepreneurs those are now
leading their life with dignity by setting up of their own
production units.

Established a Rural industrial service center during 2006-07

initially for only 50 rural entrepreneurs. The center has been
expanded to a remarkable level for 650 entrepreneurs with
regard to its’ service in providing utilization of machineries,
equipments, quality training , design dissemination and
marketing support.

Established on training cum production centre on jute diversified

products in 2005-06 for 30 women beneficiaries initially. It has
been expanded for 120 beneficiaries till date and providing
economic benefit to all of them.

Under it’s entrepreneurship and skill development programme so

far the organization has been imparted skill training and
Entrepreneurship development training to 3200 youth, women
and adolescents in trades like footwear designing, manufacturing
of artificial jewelry, wiremen, mobile repairing, M.s. Office &
internet, Leather products etc. Out of which 2840 trainees have
so far been provided Job employment and self employment by
our proper hand holding support and escort support services.

Established two Common facility service center & training centers

at 2 different locations of it’s own having with adequate training
equipments, Machineries, tools, workshops, library, sales outlet
etc. This centre is providing services like skill trainings, marketing
support, technical guidance and placement support to rural
artisans & entrepreneurs.

Aided by Ministry of Entrepreneurship and skill development

established one career guidance centre for the youth and
adolescents. Through regular counseling, arrangement career
mela so far 384 youth have been enrolled with regard to the
service of the center.

Through proper counseling, and mobilization programmes 243

SHGs have been formed and linked with bank and helping them in
mobilizing working capital support.

 research Institute ,FDDI and CFTI (MSME), 876 leather workers
have been promoted economically by intervening social
mobilization, skill trainings, infrastructure support services,
design up-gradation , marketing supports during 2010 to 2013.

Imparted capacity building training 1250 youth on different

aspects related to youth policy 2014 under the partnership of
RGNIYD, an Autonomous institute of the Ministry of
Parliamentary affairs.
