The 4H Club is an international youth organization dedicated to building a better person through the head, heart, hands and health. It was founded in
the year 1902 by Sir Albert Belmont Graham in Clark County, Ohio. It started as a local agricultural after-school clubs and fairs dedicated to help solve
agricultural challenges.
Since 4-H began more than 100 years ago, it has become the United States’ largest youth development organization. The 4-H idea is simple: help young
people and their families gain the skills needed to be proactive forces in their communities and develop ideas for a more innovative economy. 4-H opened the
door for young people to learn leadership skills and revolutionized how youth connected to practical, hands-on learning experiences outside the classroom.

In the Philippines, it was in 1934 when Maria Y. Orosa, the founder of Home Extension began youth work with farm girls who were interested
household and agricultural works.
In 1946, the Agricultural Extension Division of Bureau of Plant Industry organized the 4-W program, the forerunner of 4-H Club work in the Philippines. The
four "W's" stood for WILL, WELL-BEING, WORK and WISDOM. Projects and community clubs then started. But it was in 1952 when the Bureau of
Agricultural Extension marked the start of the 4H Club through Republic Act 680 with the copyright granted from U.S. Since then, the ideals of the club were
extended and even reached in our municipality.
It was 14 years ago when the Department of Agriculture introduced to Barangay Ward III the club whose main objective is to promote camaraderie among
the youth in all aspects of life. From then, Barangay Ward III became a strong advocate of the group not just in Minglanilla, but even in the entire province of
Cebu.
