1. Logging into IFMIS Applications

The first step in starting IFMIS Applications is to enter the appropriate URL in your browser. The
URL for the IFMIS production instance is “ifmis.mofed.gov.et:8081”. After starting Oracle
Applications, the first window you see is the Login window. You need an Applications Username
and Password to log in to IFMIS Applications.

Your Username connects you to your Responsibilities, which control your access to
Applications, Functions, Reports and Data.

User Name: Enter your User Name.

Password: Enter your Password and Click “login” Button

User Name:

The User Name convention of IFMIS is as follows;

1. It is character combinations of the User’s First Name, followed by the first letter of the
Father’s Name and the first letter of Grand Father’s Name. For example if the full name
of the IFMIS user is Tsige Maru Girma the user name will be TSIGEMG.

2. User Names are not case sensitive – user can enter a capital, small letter or a
combination of small and capital letter as per your preference.

Password:

The first time login Password for IFMIS is - Welcome123 and the system will prompt you to
change the password at the first login into the application.

IFMIS has the following Password convention listed below. It is mandatory to follow the all the
rules and condition to keep you password save and strong.
 1. The minimum number of characters (length) of the password should be 9 characters.
2. Passwords are case sensitive (for example the Password Yilebes123 is not the same as
YILEBES123).
3. The password should not contain the username (for example for the User Name
TSIGEMG, the password TSIGEMG123 is invalid).
4. Password character combination should be alpha numeric (mix of alphabets and
numbers).
5. The password should not consecutively repeat any of the characters. For example if the
User attempts to use the word “Meeran123” as a Password, the system will not allow as
the character “e” is repeating consecutively. But the password “Merane123” is a valid
password.
6. Passwords expire every 90 days and you should change your password every 90 days.
7. The maximum number of wrong password attempts is 3.

2. Logging out of IFMIS Applications

After completing you task it is important to logout from the system to ensure that your
username is cleared from system access You can log out from Personal Home page completely
by clicking the Logout link
