CHICKEN ADOBO
Chicken Adobo is a type of Filipino chicken stew. Chicken
pieces are marinated in soy sauce and spices, pan-fried, and
stewed until tender. The dish gained popularity because of
its delicious taste and ease in preparation.
DAING
Daing is a Filipino term which refers to a vast category of
marinated or salted sun-dried fish. Depending on the region and
the technique, daing can be produced with various types of fish
that may differ in texture and moisture levels. Marinated or
dried fish is used in numerous Filipino dishes as an ingredient,
side dish, topping, or a condiment which gives flavor to various
stewed or stir-fried dishes.
PINAKBET
Pakbet or pinakbet is a popular vegetable dish that originated
from one of the northern provinces of the Philippines, Ilocos.
The vegetables used on this dish are usually grown in the
back yard of every villager and are available almost all year
long. Bitter Melon, eggplant, okra, and string beans are just
some of the vegetables that make-up this delightful dish.
Pakbet is cooked in a clay pot called “Palayok” and Anchovy
sauce (bagoong isda) is used to add flavor.
