ALICE EDUARDO,
(PRESIDENT AND CEO)
ALICE EDUARDO: A WOMAN OF STEEL

If there’s one fitting title for Alice Eduardo—the President and CEO of Sta. Elena
Construction and Development—that would be Woman of Steel. Making a mark for herself
since 1995, she led her construction firm, now an AAA and Large B company which means it
has a capitalization of at least Php300 million and qualifies to bid for any billion-peso
project, to what it is today.

In an industry dominated by male, how one will stand out? Alice Eduardo, our country’s
construction magnate, knows the answer. Proving how trivial gender is as she embarked on
providing quality service. She and her team met standards and even beat project deadlines,
and thus earned the trust of Sta. Elena’s clients. True enough, her company lives up to its
slogan, going beyond structural integrity.

Alice Eduardo had always wanted to be an engineer. She grew up with an intense fascination
on how roads, bridges and buildings are built; how strong foundations are built, and how
these man-made structures can help the people in their daily lives. She wanted to be a part of
all the processes.

Her dream of becoming an engineer was overthrown by the wish of her parents, particularly
her mother, for her to become a doctor or nurse. As a compromise, she took up a
management degree.

INTRODUCTION
Work immersion is a key feature in the Senior High School
curriculum and refers to the part of that consists of 80 hours of
hands-on experience or work simulation which Grade12 students
will undergo to expose them to the actual work setting and to enrich
the competencies provided by the school. With the four exits
envisioned for SHS graduates — namely, higher education,
entrepreneurship, employment or middle-level skills development —
the first batch of Grade 12 learners are expected to become full-
fledged contributors to the social development and nation-building.
Work immersion is a key subject under the SHS curriculum that
is conducted in different ways and time frame as needed by SHS
learners. The subject provides learners with opportunities to become
familiar with the workplace; for employment simulation, and to
apply their competencies in areas of specialization/applied subjects
in authentic work environments. The said earning experience that the
students can get from it will surely enable and help students as they
familiarize themselves with the workplace simulation and apply their
competencies in their particular areas. The completion of work
immersion is a prerequisite to graduation under the K-12 program. It
aims to hone globally competitive citizens, with its specialized
curriculum, gearing Filipino students for further studies,
employment, or entrepreneurship.
Experience is one of life’s greatest teachers. As trainees, we can
use it as a motivation as we gain expertise in our respective fields.
This experience will surely help us not only for our life as students
but also our future job as professional employees of the country.
Dedication
I would be honored to dedicate this Portfolio to my parents. The
two who granted me the support to be where I am today. I would be
disabled to reciprocate their blessings till the end of my life. All what
I can do is to exert all efforts to make their dreams come true by
being a productive person. I would also dedicate this to every sincere
teacher, every hard-working student, to my friends who also support
and help me morally, to our adviser and Focal Person Mrs. Lea A.
Napenas and Ms. Aiza de Torres, and to our principal Ms. May M.
Maramot. I would like to also thank my great school and the Faculty
of Education for their efforts in the sake of their students.

Finally, I would dedicate this to our almighty god who gave me

strength, supports, and guidance in everything I do.

JOHN PAUL R. MAGTIBAY
