Activity 1 - Directed Situations. [30 marks]

For each of the situations below, write an appropriate response in


French.

1. You notice that your French teacher has a tendency to drink diet coke
during class. Pass him a note advising him to drink more water
politely.
Buvez plu d’eau.
2. Your best friend seems to be extra quiet today. Ask her what’s wrong.
Qu’est-ce qui ne va pas ?
3. She has a headache, how would she say this?
J’ai mal à la tête.
4. Write a note to your penpal telling her that you only drink coke.
Je ne bois que du coca.
5. Your doctor is concerned and writes you a letter telling you that you
must not smoke. How is this written?

6. You are on a school trip to the zoo. Your teacher shows a chart of
prohibited behaviours. You see that you must not speak to strangers.
How is this written?

7. You have a new penpal. Tell her that you used to play football when
you were little.

8. Your doctor gives you two pieces of advice on how to eat healthy.

Activity 2- Picture association. [10 marks]

Your friends have sent you pictures of how they are currently
feeling. You have to use a sentence to explain it to your French
teacher. Write a sentence for each of the images below.

3. Il a mal au ventre.

4. Il a mal au dos.
5. Il a mal au genou.
