You asked for it, so here it is!

At Amigos Ingleses your wish is our command!

Your wish is our command!

But are you sure you want to know, really?

I think so because you've sent us a lot of comments asking us to record this video.

And this isn't going to be all about us and our story but it will be a listening practice

and you will learn vocabulary, expressions and some phrasal verbs. So pay attention!

And well, our story perhaps isn't exactly like you're imagining.

Sorry, I dropped your sunglass—

No, that would be too cheesy.

No, and it wasn't the typical romance between English teacher and student either.

Although..

No.

This is a good story.

Unfortunately not.

Okay class, so today we're going to learn about Mr. Robot. Say hello. Hello. Hello, Mr.
Robot. Does anybody know what her name was? Mrs. Robot. So off they went to the
park. And then they started to kiss.

What time do you knock off today?

Well, the truth is that would have been a hoot but...no, the real story was much more

how can I say this? Cold.

Passionate.

I decided I wanted to move to Spain in order to learn some Spanish.

I had just finished university and I was living with my parents.

And so I bought a one-way ticket to Madrid. I landed there with my backpack. Then I went
to a Spanish academy for a couple of weeks.

I was working Monday to Friday for very, very long hours. I couldn't wait for the
weekends.

Found a job teaching English to businessmen and I made some teacher friends. It was a
cold, dark, winter night in January, I believe.

In the winter here it gets really, really cold. It can go below zero. I remember I wasn't
feeling my best that night. I was feeling a little bit under the weather.

After my first month in Madrid, I was robbed by pickpockets and they stole everything.

They stole my wallet, my camera, my mobile phone.

My friend persuaded me to go out so we went into a club.

My friends were party animals and they dragged me out.

I was with a friend of mine. She's from Bulgaria. She had broken her arm the previous
week. She went snowboarding. So she had a cast.

I was standing at the bar having a drink and I was looking across the club for somebody
to practice my Spanish with and so I was looking across and I thought hmm.

We were dancing in the club…

Mmm. She looks friendly. She was smiling and laughing. So I decided hmm, maybe I'll try
and practice my Spanish with her.

And I saw him, there he was.

I went up to her.

There was a little, very thin man with crazy, curly blond hair coming towards me.

His t-shirt was quite funny, it was a yellow t-shirt and it had a monkey and here it had the
print of the monkey and his trousers were just normal jeans, but they were a bit baggy.

And I said:

What? Sorry?

Where are you from?

And she said: Oh, I'm from here. And you?

I am, I'm from England.

Oh am.

I am --

And I thought is he kidding me?

And I said I'm from England.

He showed me his book which was actually a Spanish textbook.

And I found the book and it's this one. So you see it's a bit, it has peeled off.

And we tried to have a conversation in the club, but it was very loud.

I'm sure there was a chapter here on flirting. Let's see. How to flirt with Spanish women.

There it is.

And so we decided to go outside and then we kissed passionately.

We connected immediately, we hit it off.

You are prettier than pesetas.

We went in my car and we were listening to music and Philip was checking all my CDs

and many of them were from British bands, so I think he liked that. And he was, he was
being very nosy and he also took one of my hats. I had some winter hats in my glove box
in my car and he took a hat and he put it on and he took it.

We just got on like a house on fire because Isabel wanted to learn English, I wanted to
learn Spanish. Her English was much better than my Spanish at the time and probably still
is. So we continued chatting into the early hours of the morning and…

I really needed to go to the toilet. Everything was closed by then so his house was just
there because he lived right in the centre.

I said okay yeah, yeah, you can, I live just around the corner, you can use my toilet if you
want. Sorry, I can't tell you anything else, the rest is private.

He also played a song for me with his guitar. I think it was an Oasis song.

She just used the toilet and she went home. Yeah.
