work.
Pedro Oh, OK. Well, did you plug it in? Oh, yeah, you did. Oh
wait, I think you need to hook up another cable. Do you know where
the blue cable is?

the meaning
of the phrasal
verbs
Phrasal verbs
Put away: to put something in the place where it is kept because
you have finished using it.
Hook up: to connect somebody/something to a piece of
electronic equipment, to a power supply or to the Internet.
Look up: to look for information in a dictionary or reference book,
or by using a computer
Pick up: to take hold of somebody/something and lift them/it up
Put down: to stop holding something and place it on a table,
shelf, etc.
Print out: to produce a document or information from a computer
in printed form.
Phrasal verbs
Take off: to remove something, especially a piece of clothing
from your/somebody’s body
Take apart: to separate a machine or piece of equipment into the
different parts that it is made of
Throw away: to get rid of something that you no longer want.
Turn down: to reduce the noise, heat, etc. produced by a piece
of equipment by moving its controls
Turn up: to increase the sound, heat, etc. of a piece of
equipment
Put on: to dress yourself in something
