6A Work in pairs. What is the perfect job for you? Think about your now or a job you’d like in the
future.
I travel a lot and I absolutely love travelling, particularly in Europe and north America. I have
been to some countries such as the United States of America, Australia, Italy, France, Germany,
Singapore, and so on. I want to go to more countries. I really like being a tour guide. But my
perfect job is in the food industry considering my age, my family, my working experience and the
tour guide license.
I like meeting new people. I hate siting at a desk all day. I plan to be a cook at the beginning and
run my own restaurant when I get familiar with it. Many Maltese and foreigners like Chinese food,
especially fried spring rolls, fried dumplings and Beijing Ducks. The cooks usually work very
hard every day. I like working under pressure. I’m very keen on working in a team.
I have no cooking experience, but I can cook some simple home cooking. I’m keen on learning
new things. I’m learning Cookery and Nutrition Course at Mriehel Learning Centre now. I plan to
learn Chinese chef course after I get back home in the next summer holiday. I don’t mind being an
assistant chef first.

A: My perfect job is in the tourist industry.
B: I see.
A: I like meeting new people and absolutely love showing people around my city.
B: Right. And what about your colleagues, people you should work with?
A: I’m not very keen on working in a team.
B: Really? And what about the type of work?
A: You are always meeting new people and discovering new things.
B: That’s great. And what about the working Hours?
A: It is very busy during peak season, and it’s very idle during the off-season. I absolutely love the
flexible working hours.
B: It sounds wonderful.
