 ĐỀ 1
1. Do you like holidays? Why/ why not?
2. When do you prefer to take your holidays?
3. Do you prefer to travel or stay at home during holidays? Why?
▪ Vacations
▪ 1. Of course. Everyone desires to have some days off work to discover some well-known
attractions or just stay at home and enjoy time for themselves. It would be extremely relaxing
and relieving.
▪ 2. It would be summer actually. The boiling weather in my country in this period of time makes
it become the peak season of tourism. I am also fond of immersing in stunning scenery of some
beaches as well.
▪ 3. Well, many people are fond of travelling in vacations as it is free to explore new lands and go
off the beaten path, but for me, staying at home is my choice as it is too crowed to travel and I
want to spend time with my family.
Now, let’s talk about house.

2. Could you tell me something about your favorite room?
3. Would you like to change anything about your home? Why/ Why not?
▪ 1. I live in an apartment which is located near a skyscraper of the city. It
contains the whole breath-taking view of the city at night.
▪ 2. I must say that it is my bedroom. I have decorated it base on my
interest that makes me feel extremely relax whenever I’m at home.
▪ 3. If I had chance to make a difference about my home, it would be the
kitchen. You know, I’m a kind of person who is keen on cooking and
creating new dishes, so I always desire to have a beautiful kitchen with
fully equipment to serve my work.
The city council wants to build a new facility for the town to improve resident’s life standard. Three
facilities are suggested: a town hall, a library, and a sport centre. Which facility do you think is the best
choice?

Now, the test begins. Let’s talk about clothes.
1. What type of clothes do you like to wear? Casual clothes/ formal clothes/ sport clothes

▪ 1. Well, I love casual clothes which make me feel completely comfortable when I put on.
T-shirts and jeans accompany with sneakers are my common choices.
▪ 2. Not really. Many people said that I have good style on combining clothes together that can
make me look more fashionable, but compare to some well-known fashionista, I think I look
quite normal and also, I’m not a shopaholic.
▪ 3. It’s essential of course. Everyone is able to judge you base on what you wear at the first
time. For example, when you attend to a vital interview to decide whether you get the job or
not, if you don’t have well preparation with formal clothes and take some casual instead, it’s
hard for the interview to have good impression with you.
Now, let’s talk about daily routine.

2. What part of your day do you like best?
3. Do you think it is important to have a daily routine? Why/ Why not?
▪ 1. Some people enjoy the repeated daily routine which I find quite
monotonous. Something is new every day will give me the inspiration for
the whole working day.
▪ 2. It would be in the evening when it enables me to be extremely relaxed
after a hard-working day and enjoy some personal interests. It is also a
great time to spend with my family to eat out or have a cosy dinner for
reunion.
▪ 3. I must say that it is essential because you will be well-organized and
have clear schedule about the flow of work you need to finish in a day. It’s
great to not miss any kind of stuffs and become a good habit.

Now, the test begins. Let’s talk about computer.
1. Do you use computer for studying?
2. What are some advantages of using computer?
3. Do you think it is important to know how to use computer? Why/ Why not?
▪ 1. Of course, it is indispensable part of my studying as it assists me to do homework and
submit for my teacher via email. Besides, it is also a tool for me to create presentation and
join plenty of learning community.
▪ 2. Apart from studying as I told you before, I also utilize it for my part-time job and
entertaining. I work as a tutor at an English centre, so it allows me to creates the effective
lesson and check my Ss’ homework. It is also an enormous source of application and
games to play and relieve tension.
▪ 3. Of course. Computers helps you work faster as it contains a lot of software and hardware
to do capabilities. With the development of internet, computers are able to answer almost
any question with some simple manipulations. They can teach you almost everything and
help you find a job cause any entrepreneur required this certificate.
Now, let’s talk about weather.

3. Does weather affect your mood? Why/ Why not?
▪ 1. I love all seasons cause each one has its special things to love, but if I had to choose,
it would be autumn. I was born in this period of time which was the coolest month of the
year. I can enjoy the scenery of yellow leaves falling off the ground from the top of the
frees and sniff some special smells bringing the taste of nature.
▪ 2. When it becomes boiling hot and sweaty, it’s a good idea to have a long vacation
outside the crowed city to the beach or mountainous area to immerse in the stunning
view and nature. Or simply going the swimming pool to enjoy time with family.
▪ 3. It actually does. I’m in a bad mood when it’s rainy cause I think about the sad memory
happened in the past. It comes back like the flood in my mind that I can’t prevent.

Now, the test begins. Let’s talk about music.

2. What kind of music do you listen to?
3. Which instrument would you like to take up in the future?
▪ 1. Yes, of course. Listening to music is a great way to relax and speak volume.
Whenever I’m in a good or bad mood, I find music as my friends to share
with.
▪ 2. There are various kinds of music, but if I had to choose one, it would be
pop which is the most popular among youngsters. It has catchy tune and
melody that is able to easily attract attention from the others.
▪ 3. I would have a crack at playing the violin which is considered as a difficult
instrument to learn how to play. Many people said that to play it well, you not
only need to be patient but also you need to have an innate talent for it.
Now, let’s talk about working out.
1. What do you do to keep fit?
2. Are there any kinds of exercise that you want to try? Why?
3. Is working out important to your health?
▪ 1. Actually, I’m not kind of person who is really into doing exercises and
playing sports. However, I would like to take up yoga as it assists me to be
more flexible and stay in shape.
▪ 2. I have tried plenty of methods to have good figures, you know. I have
gone to the gym to work out, but I was not patient enough to keep it up.
Now, I just do some gentle exercises at home by watching some personal
trainers on YouTube and I find it efficient as well.
▪ 3. With the moderate level, it’s essential for you to get enough exercises to
stay healthy and improve life expectancy. Otherwise, you have to suffer
from many diseases.

▪ 1. How often do you read the newspapers?
▪ 2. What do you prefer reading: newspapers or magazines?
▪ 3. Have you ever read a newspaper or a magazine in a foreign language?
▪ 1. Actually, I found that reading the traditional newspapers is now quite outdated,
so I don’t normally read them. I surf the internet and keep up to date the news
from all over the world instead.
▪ 2. I would choose magazine as my taste of preference since it is more colorful and
interesting. What I enjoy most about it is the fashion section which provides me
various items to purchase, catch the trend, and become more fashionable.
▪ 3. Definitely. My major is English, so reading newspaper or magazines in this
language supports me not only the enormous vocabulary and grammar but also
the culture of western countries. It’s a great source to enrich my knowledge.
Now, let’s talk about eating out.

2. Where do you like to eat out?
3. Do you prefer eating at home or at a restaurant? Why?
1. I’m really keen on cooking and enjoying meals with my family, so eating out is
not my cup od tea. I just eat out in some special occasion like birthday or
anniversary.
2. It would be King BBQ which is located near my apartment. I love grilled food a
lot and the dishes there are delicious. Also, the service is professional and the
view looks nice are the plus points for this well-known restaurant.
3. As I told you before, I prefer the cozy atmosphere for family gathering, so I
would choose having a meal at home stead of going out. Imagine that all family
members will take a hand to prepare food, talk and enjoy it together. What a good
time we will have!
