Assignment 1
Deadline: Monday 19/09/2022 @ 23:59
[Total Mark for this Assignment is 8]

Student Details:
Name: ## Taif Albadri ID: ### 180115759

CRN: ### 11065

Instructions:

You must submit two separate copies (one Word file and one PDF file) using the Assignment Template on
Blackboard via the allocated folder. These files must not be in compressed format.
It is your responsibility to check and make sure that you have uploaded both the correct files.
Zero mark will be given if you try to bypass the SafeAssign (e.g. misspell words, remove spaces between words,
hide characters, use different character sets, convert text into image or languages other than English or any kind
of manipulation).
Email submission will not be accepted.
You are advised to make your work clear and well-presented. This includes filling your information on the cover
page.
You must use this template, failing which will result in zero mark.
You MUST show all your work, and text must not be converted into an image, unless specified otherwise by the
question.
Late submission will result in ZERO mark.
The work should be your own, copying from students or other resources will result in ZERO mark.
Use Times New Roman font for all your answers.

multimedia.
1- Interactive multimedia:
electronic framework that permits the user to control, consolidate, and
manipulate various sorts of media, like text, sound, video, PC graphics, and
animation. And we deal with multiple kinds of multimedia on a daily basis,
such as when we go through social media networks such as twitter,
Instagram, snapchat…etc. when we use them we interact with people and
share multiple types of information like text, sounds, videos, and playing
games.

2- Non-interactive multimedia:
It the multimedia type that does not allow human intervention when sharing
information and do not accept user input. Non-interactive types of
multimedia include television, radio, movies theaters, and podcasts.

3- Adaptive multimedia:
It is an advanced digital content that is streamlined for numerous devices, it
might incorporate text, pictures, video, and different kinds of sight and
sound. The content may essentially adjust to your screen size and modifying
number of pixels due to the type of device or may show up contrastingly
relying upon the gadget on which it is gotten to. Examples of this type of
multimedia are a lot and expanding such as some apps like Microsoft office,
some applications that used to be computer-oriented are now adaptive to
and device, also computer games are in the same case.

4- Immersive multimedia:

immersive multimedia is an immediate or backhanded perspective on an

extended reality wholes components are added by the computer intelligence

can become intelligent and carefully controlled by the user. The examples
of this type of multimedia are expanding in the technical industry like
augmented reality, virtual reality, holopresence, and some others.

information. There are two major types of compression, Lossy and lossless.

The lossy type compresses data by losing any unimportant fractures of the data thus
creating more space for storage.

While the lossless type only reduces the size of the file to create more space and its
possible to reconstruct or decompress it when opening the file again.

Which we can say that:

1- Bigdata is most suitable to be compressed with the lossless type of compression

because the need of all the details and any loss of data could cause an alter in
the quality of the important data in the document.
2- We can use the lossy type of compression for the digital photo because usually
the lost details are not to be seen or affects the quality of the photo.

technologies. Marking Criteria: 1 mark for each part. 1 * 2 = 2 marks

First, The CU or the control unit, the control unit is the piece of the CPU that is
responsible for every one of the tasks being completed. Its mission is to guide the
system to execute directions, helps in correspondence between the memory and the
arithmetic logical unit, and it likewise supports the stacking of information and
directions dwelling in the secondary memory to the primary memory as required.

And the ALU or the arithmetic logical unit is liable for playing out all logical and
arithmetic tasks. Like subtracting, addition, multiplication, and division for the
arithmetic part, and comparison between characters and numbers for the logical part.

The types of storage in the CPU are two types which are primary storage and
secondary storage.

primary Storage (memory) This kind of storage is principally used to briefly store
data, meaning it tends to lose data as soon as the computer reboots or loses power. The
CPU doesn't straightforwardly get to the secondary memory, rather it generally
depends on the primary memory.

Unlike the secondary storage, this sort of storage is principally used to store
information on significant stretches, or to preserve data on the long term, this sort of
memory is put away in outside gadgets, for example, hard drives, memory flash and so
on.

Creating Multimedia applications on the computer Network makes the applications

dispersed this means involving a lot of special computing techniques. multimedia
systems might need to present a verity of media at the same time unlike ordinary
applications, there is a temporal connection between many forms of media like the link
between video and audio. But this reveals on two types of problems here:

1- Sequencing inside the media, by meaning playing outlines in right request/time

period/order in the video.
2- Synchronization, in-media timing (for example Video and Sound). Lip
synchronization is obviously significant for people to watch playback of video
and sound.
